Yes, the Myers location is as you have stated...on a hill not too far from the railroad that runs behind Homestead Antiques where Bill & Loretta Mann reside. Charles, Once again I call on you would you know what the H stands for in James H. Gray middle name? Also who his parent were? Sounds like you might know your way around the Myers area? Jim
Jean, Thanks for the reply The Myers has been one of my harder lines to work. I have a Dudley Everitt Myers 1865-1931 His father Nelson Myers 1834- His father is George Myers ? - ? All from around Nicholas County. Nelson may be buried at Cane Ridge Cem. George may be buried in the family cemetery behind what is now Homestead Antiques at Myers Station. Is this what is listed in the book as Myers Cemetery? The dates don't match the George Myers I have but this George could be a generation before my George. Does your Nicholas County book have any more on the Myers? Thanks for your help! Parrish Chapel, or Cassidy Creek Meth Church, as most of the locals call it, is a couple of miles up Cassidy Creek road from Myers Station (Myers). As one proceeds from Carlisle toward Licking River, hang a right on Cassidy Creek road just as the northern edge of that once booming metropolis of Myers disappears. Its near the booming spa known as the Clay Farm. Hello Jeanne, I saw your KYF re: Myers Cemetary. The Tolliver stone is for William Morgan Tolliver and his wife, Loucretia Tolliver. William b 17 Mar 1860 d. 18 Mar 1933 Loucretia b 23 May 1867 d 22 Mar 1927 Kay
Can anyone tell me how Martha Gray who died in 21-May-1885 is related to John Harvey or James Harrison Gray of Nicholas County, KY she was the wife of J. W. Gray.
Parish Chapel Methodist Graveyard... GRAY, Martha J. w/o J.W. Gray b. Mar. 26 1824, d May 21 1885 NO.... I do not see any more grays in this cemetery..... and I really do not have the time to research all the cemeteries listed in the book as it is NOT indexed (the cemeteries) ..... but I was looking for something else and just happened to see this one grave..... hope that it helps... Jeannie <><
My wife has Gray/Grey ancestors, but we have not been able to match them with your previous postings. Your message below, however, has too many matches to be ignored. Wife, Mary, has a Samuel Gray who married a Margaret A. Biddle, 1 January 1856. Samuel & Margaret named one of their boys 'Squire'. We do not know if Samuel's father is also Squire Gray, but it is a decent bet. The additions made to your msg below are from Nicholas Co. marraige records: At 12:04 AM 10/13/99 EDT, you wrote: >Can anyone help me with any information on the family on James H. Does anybody know about a cemetery at Myers Station KY? Sid Schuman sschuman@mail.win.org
Sid, The Cane Ridge that you are looking for is actually in Bourbon County. You can find information on the church at http://www.uky.edu/LCC/HIS/sites/cane.html. No cemetery list there, but some good information about the church, as well as a phone number to call for directions. Valarie
Does any one know where the Cane Ridge Cemetery is? I understand that it is next to the Cane Ridge Church and that it was restored as a historic monument? I am told I have relatives buried there. Is there a list of the graves? any help would be appreciated Sid Schuman sschuman@mail.win.org
