    2. Jean Dalrymple
    3. Surname: Burns, Lanham, Whaley, Moreland, Sims, Wiggins, McConnell, Hazeltime With the compliments of the ROBERTSON COUNTY REVIEW, Mt.Olivet, Robertson County KY. Page 1 The Tribune Democrat, Thursday, 20 October 1949 Lawrence B. Burns, well known and substanitial farmer of Thomas neighberhood, died in Hayswood Hospital last Saturday morning in an accident on his farm Thursday afternoon. Always strong and active, he was engaged in pulling stumps with a horse puller and it is said the chain broke, allowing the sweep to fly around with terriffic force, strinking him on his legs and hurling him aprox imately 30 feet away. His leg and neck were fractured and he received other body bruises in the fall. He was rushed to Maysville hospital by his physisian, Dr. L.T. Lanham. Later he regained consciousness, but it is said could not explain the accident, as it occurred so suddenly. It is reported the "dog" on the rachet wheel had been lost off the machine, which allowed it to run wild when the chain broke. Mr. Burns was the eldest son of the late Larry and Margaret Ann Whaley Burns of Thomas pike and was 78 years of age. He was a very industrious and successful farmer and at one time owned a good Bourbon county farm, where he resided for some time. He was twice married, being survived by six children by his first marriage, namely, William, conley, Clarence, L. B. Burns, all of Paris; Mrs. William Moreland of Middletown, Ohio, and Mrs. Frank Sims of Mt. Pleasant, this county, and his wife and six children at home, namely Paul and Lawrence Burns Jr., Christine, Joan, Phyllis and Ruth Burns, and 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, William Burns and Henry Burns, and one sister, Mrs. O. D. Wiggins, all of this county. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Mt. Olivet Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Emery Mc Connell, of Indiana, assisted by the pastor Rev. Paul Hazeltine. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in charge of Kain and Sheeler

    3. I went searching for an ancestor, I cannot find him still. He moved around from place to place and did not leave a will. He married where a courthouse burned, he mended all his fences. He avoided any man who came to take the U.S. Census. He always kept his luggage packed, this man who had no fame, And every 20 years or so, this rascal changed his name. His parents came from Europe. They should be on some list of passengers to the U.S.A., but somehow they got missed. And no one else in this world is searching for this man. So, I play geneasolitaire to find him if I can. I'm told he's buried in a plot, with tombstone he was blessed; but the weather took engraving, and some vandals took the rest. He died before the county clerks decided to keep records. No family Bible has emerged, in spite of all my efforts. To top it off, this ancestor who caused me many groans, Just to give me one more pain, betrothed a girl named JONES! >>
