"No,Bourbon Co north of Paris,on the county line,"says he,and he forgets the source. Anybody know of a Baptist congregation near Hinkson Creek, or if it was the earlier Bourbon Co line, near [?] Blue Licks? 1794. The newly-weds are said to have moved to Bracken Co,and then,1798,here to Bethel,Oh Jeremiah Beck was petitioning Mason Co be cut from Bourbon Co in 1787. And 1788. Very Baptist,he had lost a son to Indians-he might have retreated to Hinkson. He was neighbors,in Fayette Co,SW Pa with the people of Alexander Buchanan's station a mile west of Germantown,Ky. Beck's wife was a Merrifield. Kelly Burk's mother raised Perth Amboy,NJ a Denham. The Shotwell's,of Mays Lick, and the DENHAM'S,TUENER'S,PARKER'S knew each other in n.e. NJ . But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit are made of glass. =A0=A0If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How? =A0=A01. Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. 3. Faye Do your Turners go back to the Jesse Turner who bought 75 Acres from James Ray in the early 1800's when the area now in Nicholas Co was Bourbon Co KY? A few years later Francis Ray, son of that James Ray was named guardian of the "orphan children" of Jesse Turner. 3. Good morning, I am brand new to this list and could really use some help. The only information I have for the family member I am seeking is that: My great grandmother Mary Kane, daughter of Thomas Kane and Mary Ellen Russell was born in Kentucky. I guess her date of birth based on the 1870 census for Kansas City, Missouri would be about 1854. The LDS fiche shows her in Nicholas County. Any suggestions? Can someone please help me? Thank you and have a great day, Dick DeBary, FL

    3. Hi all, every once in a while an e-mail comes thru the mail that has a lot of mumbo jumbo on it... that is because Rootsweb does not know about HTML.. :( SO in the left hand corner of most of your address pages (where you add a new address to your address book... ) there is a little box there that says "send plain text"... SO if you would check that little box on your address's that go to the rootsweb lists, then there won't be such a mess of stuff for folks to try and de-siphon thru... Thanks, Jeannie <><

Susan is divorced and back with her parents. David's parents were William and Hannah Leggett. This I have not proven. Dan you had asked me before about her 2 marriages, and I found them. 1. [KYNICHOL] FW: [ADKINS] Genealogy Christmas Eve
    2. Jean Dalrymple
    3. Twas The Day Before Yesterday TWAS the day before yesterday and all through the branches, NOT a name to be found, none of my ancestors. THE Journals and Bibles were dusty and worn, WHY should we care, these kinfolk are gone. THE pictures of children and family, long ago dead, ARE scattered, crinkled, and crammed under beds. DAD in his chair, and I with a book, HAD just settled back to give the TV a look. WHEN out on the street there arose such a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter. ON the way to the window I tripped with a crash, I tore open the curtains and looked through the glass. THE sun in the sky was nowhere in sight, THE clouds were so gray, it could have been night. WHEN what to my wondering eyes should appear, THE Mailman with packages, letters and cards of good cheer. THE driver was grumbling while sorting his letters, I knew in a moment, things had to get better. THE size of one letter stood out from them all, A distant cousin was asking about family, one and all. THE names of Grandpa and Grandma, Great Grandparents all, NEXT came my Father, my Brother, and Uncle Paul. FROM cousins and uncles to aunts and nephews, NIECES and in-laws, just to name a few. SO through the many journals and photos, and stuff I possessed, MY search for my ancestors slowly progressed. WHILE up the family tree I gradually climbed, MY ancestors names, I was seeking to find. UPON that tree I have carved many a name, THE branches of which, will never be the same. THE tree is now filled with many I've found, BUT in the search for others, now I am bound. THE ancestors whose names, I have written with love, THE Lord has gathered to take to His Father above. WITH so many names yet to be carved on that tree, I have little time to waste on games and TV. GATHERING names, photos, histories and places, REQUIRES a lot of love, patience, and God's good graces. SOME were Farmers, Soldiers and such, Mothers and Fathers who struggled much. SOME were Settlers, who traveled far, some Adventures, who followed the stars. SOME were rich but most were poor, they came by ship, seeking more. SOME died young, others old, many their stories yet untold. I cried when I thought of those brothers and sisters, FOR I am who I am, thanks to my ancestors. MY family is but one branch on the Tree of Life, A tree that grew strong through toil and strife. ALONE, I'm just a bare twig or a stub, TOGETHER we build a Family Tree of Love (Written by Linnie Vanderford Poyneer one night after a long day of research) ==== ADKINS Mailing List ==== Add your Adkins obituaries, queries, biographies, wills, deeds, bible records, and pensions to the Adkins Message Boards: http://fly.hiwaay.net/~jjadkins/genealogy/boards.html

Thank you Chuckie.... -----Original Message----- From: charles r. carter [mailto:cartercr@rma.edu] Sent: Saturday, December 11, 1999 6:41 PM To: KYNICHOL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [KYNICHOL] WELCOME! Gee, I can't leave you guys alone for a minute:) Sorry, there are days when I escape this horrid master. Nicholas County DOES have a historical society, but I know of no set hours of operation. Some options are: E-mail > ncpl@kih.net; that is the Nicholas County Library. Duty librarian will be able to put you in touch with a concerned soul. Call Joan Conley, editor of NCHS newsletter, at (606) 289-5402. Write NCHS, P. O. Box 222, Carlisle, KY 40311. Visit the above library on Broadway across street from courthouse, and about 30 yards down the street from Conley & Conley Attorneys (cousins). Sherry Howard, local genealogist & workhorse for NCHS, works at Conley & Conley. Sherry also has a key to the NCHS museum where most society records reside. The library is rich with all those bits of info desired by those addicted to genealogy.
