He married Rebecca Delph CARPENTER, daughter of Judge Samuel CARPENTER and Margaret Bowie SLAUGHTER, on 21 Aug 1840 at Nelson County, Kentucky. He died on 19 Mar 1873 at Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky, at age 70. He was buried on 20 Mar 1873 at Bardstown Cemetery, Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky, USA, 374920N 0852738W. This man is the nephew of my ancestor, Capt. Thomas Humphreys of Culpeper County, VA. As you can see, I know a lot about JAY Humpreys including his children, but not one detail about his father.
