Dear List, Can anyone give me all the children of Mathew Cissell and Sarah Howard. Linda Reno needs it from the St. Mary's County, Maryland List, and I'm not sure I have all of their children. Mathew Cissell married Sarah Howard on 11 March 1795 in Washington County, KY. Linda Reno had date of 17 Mar 1795 not sure who is more correct. Can anyone locate the marriage record to verify? Cissell born 22 April 1802 Washington County, KY died 12 Dec 1876 Marion County, KY married 20 Nov 1824 Washington County, KY to William Rhodes born 4 April 1800 Washington DC, he died 24 Jan 1880 in Marion County, KY Charles Cissell born 1808 Washington County, KY married 28 Oct 1828 in Hardin County, KY to Rebecca Shipley Geoghegan born 10 Dec 1809 Hardin County, KY died 25 Feb 1883 Hardin County, KY she was the daughter of Ambrose Denton Geoghegan Jr. and Elizabeth Shipley Mathew J. Cissell born 1811 in Washington County, KY died 17 May 1865 in Marion County, KY married Angeline M. Hagan born 20 May 1819, she died 18 oct 1853, I have they married on 3 oct 1835, but I don't know where they married. She was the daughter of John Hagen and Elizabeth Hayden

Who is the father of the Sarah HOWARD, who married Mathew CISSELL? Did her father have a brother named William, who married Sarah SPINKS. My Spinks family was in Washington Co., KY about 1799 or earlier, and Sarah Howard Spinks husband, William Spinks, was dead by this time, but, they also had a son named William Spinks, as well as a daughter Ann Spinks, who married Edward BURCH. According to my files, Mathew Cissell born 20 Feb 1775 St. Mary's County, Maryland died 23 Jan 1846 in Marion county, KY. Sarah Howard his wife born 1780 in St. Mary's County, Maryland died 1837 Marion County, KY. Both buried at St. Charles Cemetery, Marion County, KY As Census records point out they only had two girls, but 4 boys so I'm short 2 boys. The only girls I have for then is Elizabeth Cissell and Harriett E. Cissell. No Mary Cissells as daughters of Mathew Cissell and Sarah Howard. I'm very confident I have it correctly when I say Peter Cissell married Eleanor Howard a sister of Thomas Howard. I Think studying more on Peter Cissell will also prove that I'm correct. All the clues point to that. Valentine Hefner married Priscilla Burch. Valentine Hefner was a witness on will of Thomas Howard. Mary Cissell daughter of Peter Cissell and Eleanor was not married when Thomas Howard made his will, and when she did marry she married John Hanson Burch brother of Priscilla Burch, their other brother Alexander "Sandy Burch married Eleanor Cissell daughter of Peter Cissell and Eleanor Howard. It's the only Mary Cissell alive at that time that fits as a niece of Thomas Howard. Mary Cissell daughter of John Baptist Cissell married Charles Howard but they were already married by 22 Dec 1796 Nelson County, KY. Thomas Howard would not of referred to her as Mary Cissell his niece, because he already knew she was married, without mentioning her husband. I wish I had complete will of Thomas Howard not the abbreviated version as it might list other relationships, also there was probably an Account, or Inventory of his Estate which would shed more light on subject. I don't think Thomas Howard had brothers. The History of Nelson County concerning Edward Howard states when he died he will his land over to his son Thomas Howard, had Edward Howard have had other sons they would have been mentioned, I suppose if he did have sons other than Thomas They could have died, before their father, but I think somewhere in the History it says Edward Howard only had one son. I think we just need to study Peter Cissell more, and when he dies look carefully at whose a witness, If we find and Edward Howard's on any document of Peter Cissell, then I think it's more obvious than ever. Did Peter Cissell and Eleanor his wife Come to Nelson County, KY. Where were they found living in Nelson County, KY if they did.
