I am looking for information about my great great great grandfather Michael Whalen, whose wife (I think) was Catherine Welch. They lived in Nelson County during the early 1800's and then moved to Edgar County, Illinois. They had a number of children, including my great great grandfather Patrick Whalen. I am fairly certain the family came from Ireland but I don't know when or from what area. Any additional information would be truly appreciated. Pat Smart
