Dear List, Linda, Jim Pulliam and I have been working on John B. Gough who died in 1839 in Scott County, KY. Our primary goal is to definitively determine the parents of John B. Secondly we want to accurately record his children. The following was found in the 1810 ScottCo, KY census. John B. Gough 1766-1784 1 Male, 1 Female 1794-1800 1 Male 1800-1810 1 Male, 8 females Bef 1765 2 Females Mary Medley Gough had recently died and JB had recently remarried tp Sarah Jenkins Clarvo. The family group above reflects both JB's and Sarah's children. These following male Goughs are buried next to Mary Medley Gough are probably two of the children: 57 George Gough 1798 April 23, 1821 58 Henry Gough 1800 May 20, 1819 In 1830 the following family was recorded: John B. Gough 1 Male 1760-1770 1 Female 1770-1780 1 Male 1800-1810 1 Male and 1 Female 1810-1815 1 Male1815-1820 1 Male 1820-1825 Stephen Gough is buried at St. Francis/St. Pius RCC cemetery close to the other Goughs and is probably one of the younger children in the family: 71 Stephen T. Gough 1818 Dec. 4, 1831 John B's tombstone says he was born in 1767: 145 John B. Gough Feb 29,1767 Feb.19, 1839 (note: 1767 was not a leap year) The two census records indicate that he was born in bet 1760-1766. This is what I have for the family of John B. Gough b: 1818 d: December 4, 1831 John B. is usually give as the son of James and Susan Tarlton Gough. However, there is no source for John B as the son of these parents.
