In reply to Dave's post on April 23, 2005 11:22 a.m. And here I live 1/4 mile from the Texas Bend Cem. Didn't think to look in Powell's book for him. From Texas Bend Cem Burials I find: ( *More than one name on stone indicated by an asterisk preceeding first name and another after the date of last name appearing on stone) F. X. Byrne died Sep 1, 1883 aged 69 yrs., 2 mos *Boon, Amanda w/o Thos. Sep 20, 1852-Oct 22, 1877 aged 25 yrs., 1 mo., 2 days Annie C. Byrne d/o F.X. & M Oct 13, 1852-Sep 17, 1878 aged 25 yrs., 11 mo., 4 days Lucinda Byrne d/o F.X. & M. Apr 7, 1854-Oct 22, 1876 aged 22 yrs., 6 mo., 15 days* Don't know if this burial is a connection to the Byrne's or not, but is listed as one stone over: Mary E. Burns w/o George 1850-1885 "Goodspeeds History of SE Mo" states George Burns married Mary E. Mushold who died on May 22 1885. George a son of Owen and Catherine (Conway) Burns both natives of County Galway, Ireland. I have marriages of Miss Co.1845-1912 if anyone wants a lookup. Don't see how Francis X. Byrne was missed on 1860-70 census for Miss. Co. The surname Burns only appears once. In the probate book I have, there are several surnames of Byrne and will have to look at each to see if Francis X. is found on some record before 1872. I thought 1872 would be the earliest since he wasn't found on the 1860/70 census. Note to Dave--J. D. Byrne a descendant of this family and I'm sure a school mate of yours also, died last year.
