The above 3 boys are: John Ermine LAVEY, JOHN OLIVER LAVEY, my GGF, and Charles Henry LAVEY. All 3 served in the Civil War. 1 John Oliver enrolled at Hodgenville, d 1912 Athertonville, LaRue Co, is buried at St Catherine's Cath Cem, New Haven. 2 Charles Henry enrolled at Hodgenville, he never married (no record yet); died at Nelsonville, Nelson, Ky (obviously no stone--UNLESS he was the one who stayed & became a Priest???? 3 John Ermine served from Ind, md at New Albany, lived at Jeffersonville, IN, had daus who m at Jeffersonville, had a son-in-law who was a guard at the prison; had a son Charles Oliver Lavey who commited suicide at Lafayette, In & both John E. & wife died at Lafayette, IN; is buried in the Soldiers & Sailor Home Cem at Lafayette. Have always been told that the LAVEY name should be pronounced LAvey. But if pronounced this way would be spelled Laville/Lavielle/Levielle. Searching HARD for any data that will help me!!! Have Lavielle in 1810 Calvert Co, MD; a Daniel Lavielle 1850 Louisville; Lavielle 1850 & 1880 St Louis, MO; 1930 Lavielles in Denver, Co. 1880 Eugene & brother Theodore Lavielle--St Louis, Mo--Eugene (42-b ca 1818) is Steam Boat Capt; brother is a Clerk (younger). Eugene's descendants ended up in Ks & CO. 1830 Cen City of St Louis lists Joseph C. Lavielle (same Joseph who m Elizabeth Edmondson???).
