    3. Hi Lori, I am especially interested in any info. you are willing to share concerning the Rapiers. My aunt (Mother's sister) Ellen Claybrooke married Ferd Rapier in Washington Co. Ky. and made their home in Bardstown where both remained until their death. This has been somewhat of a wall for me. I am also interested in the Abell side as a more distant relative is married to an Abell from Lebanon. I have only limited info. on both the Rapiers and Abells but have extensive info. on most branches of the Claybrook(e)s. I am from Washington Co. Ky. where I lived my younger years with my grandfather, James Richard Claybrooke and Beulah Mae Litsey Claybrooke. I will share any and all info. that I have. 1. Re: [KYNELSON-L] LOOK-UP EDWARD QUINN
    2. Thanks so much Mary. It is very kind of you to send this. When it comes to Quinns, I do not discredit any of it until I can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt as Queen abd Quinn are used interchangeably by the census takers because they do not know the name and put down what they thing it should be and that is bit always right. My mother's maiden name is QUINN and there is no doubt but after that, you about have to know the family names and what you are searching for. At this point, I cannot toss any of them out as his wife's family (siblings and all) were in Ohio and Grayson County and they stayed pretty close together. Again...thanks! Mary Alice

    2. Thanks to all who searched for the Quinn information. The one that I was searching for w as indexed as Queen and I had not seen an index so I did not know to tell you that. I had seen a photocopy of the 1870 Census in question but, the names after Edward Quinn had been cut off. Again, much appreciated. Mary Alice

    3. Mary Alice, I may have found what you are looking for. The writing is hard to read, and the entry is indexed as Queen rather than Quinn, but it could be either one. 1870 Nelson Co., KY, Bardstown Precinct #1, Bardstown P.O., July 28th 239/243 QUINN, Edward 24 MW Farmer $1500 KY ................JAMES, Thomas 25 MW Farm hand $550 KY ................KUTHER, James 45 MB Farm hand KY ...........................Jane 40 FB Keeping house KY ...........................Laura 13 FB At home KY ...........................Sue 12 FB At home KY ................BROWN, Arch 20 MB Farm hand KY 240/244 BALL, James 20 MW Farm hand KY ............................Ann 18 FW Keeping house KY ...............QUINN, James 75 MW At home KY The 75-year old James Quinn is also indexed as Queen, but looking at the writing, it could be either. Hope this helps. Georgia Minklein

    2. I do not believe there is any connection in our Davis line. My GGGrandfather was George W. Davis, but the dates are not correct. There are several George and George W. Davis's in IL. and in Edgar County,There is another Davis line we believe connect but have never been able to prove they do connect. This is the families of Wiley and Jasper DavIs,who are found during the 1800s' in Douglas County,IL and then in St. Clair Count,MO. thanks Barbara
