Diana, I found your James S. Dukes in Gil Stewart's database, born in 1855 in Muhl Co. He is listed with 2 children, James W. and Nancy L. Dukes, but no Frank. James S. is listed as a son of William F. Dukes b.1832, a veteran. William F. is listed as son of Jonathan. Jonathan had 11 children and seemed to move around a lot between Muhl Co and TN, with several children born in each place. Jonathan was a son of Benjamin, who is my ancestor, so, yes this would be my family.
