Hi Ernie, My dad chewed and smoked till he was 88 yrs. when he passed away. He was born in Muhlenberg and his dad and brother were both killed in the undergrounds around Luzerne/Graham. After losing both of them, he left KY at about 17 yrs. of age, deciding he hated the mines. However, I'm sure his habit started in KY since apparently most miners did chew and/or smoke. He did return many years later and worked for Peabody in the strip mines. I went down one time in one of the few remaining undergrounds with a friend just to see one. After that experience - I decided one might do anything to keep their sanity day after day! L. Livers Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio Searcher Researching: LOSTUTTER, WILKEY/WHELCHEL, DREW, OVERTON
