    1. Re: [KYMUHLEN] Central City coal mine accident......

    3. Just in case your Central City mine accident doesn't work out to be the correct one - I have a person who died "in a mine accident " (not a direct ancestor) and come to find out, it was in a very small mine on his own property, with very few workers. He was the only fatality. There were a few details on his death certificate, though - it says something like "shelf fell on him in mine" on the certificate. If you don't have this person's death certificate you might get a copy and it might tell you something in the cause of death. Go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/sources/vitals.html and you will find a list of three people who will copy death certifcates for you (non-certified, for genealogical purposes) for less than the "certified" price. Mary K. Becker >>> [email protected] 08/24/01 09:53AM >>> Dena..........that is a great offer....thanks........ If it wouldn't be any trouble for you......... His name is BENJAMIN CALVIN CRUNK......born April 10, 1886 and died Feb.08,1912.......(date is close to the accident date) It is just "Ben" Crunk in the 1910 censues in Providence,Ky. with a young wife of just 16...her name was Emma Lee (Baker) Crunk... All I know about him is he died young......his fathers second wife is my paternal grandmother.... The census has him as a "coal miner" in 1910 so I looked around on the web and found that there were two coal mining accidents in 1912 . The one in Central City and there was one on April 21,1912....but I thought maybe the one in Central City because it would be closer to Providence.... I live in Michigan so I truely appreciate this.... Thanks again for the offer........
