To Sharon Pemberton: 1822 Court Records: Jacob Whitmer resigned as justice of the peace. 1850 census listed John Whitmer, 65, and Valentine Whitmer, 62, as widowers. 1860 census: William W. Whitmore (but same as Whitmer) [that is Manley's note] was 46 and his wife 41. The children at home listed from 22 years to 10 months of age, namely: Joseph, James, Mary F., John, Thomas, Nancy, Robert, Elizabeth, Susan, Tabitha J., and Hannah. All born in Kentucky. They were censused July 17, 1860.
