My Muhlenberg connection has been a brick wall for 40 years! Catherine married John Levi Pendley January 1833 in Muhlenberg Co. John was from Butler Co., KY. I have never found Catherine's parents. There is a John Ewing who died 1847 in Muhlenberg and his wife Catherine Mefford, who died there in 1844. However, I have not found any proof that these were Catherine's parents. I also have never found proof of the spelling of Catherine's middle name of Cogle. My grandmother, Eva Mae Pendley Langston, said it sounded like cobra to her, as a little girl.
