Hi Laura, By any chance are you related to any of the Kirtleys of McLean County? I have John Melbourne Kirtley, Sr. in my family. He married Susie B. Campbell who was my 2nd g-aunt Mariah Lorrison Campbell's daughter. County-Judge Rodney Kirtley is part of this same family, (son of John M., Jr) but I have not communicated with any of them.
