Alma, I checked back through the Census's. I could not find a single Baxter that came from anywhere but Muhlenburg, Ky. All the way back into the 1830 Census. It all seems to have started with John Baxter. This is the earliest property purchase. It shows 4 separate purchases. I would order this record to see if it has any of the information about where they came from. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
