    3. Fran, Which branch would your Wilkins come from? I happened to notice this, and, as this is the first Wilkins name I have seen here, was immediately interested. My line runs from James Wilkins, son of William, Sr., and grandson of John, ostensibly from Duplin County, North Carolina. William Sr. and his two sons, Wm. Jr. and James, showed up in Muhlenberg Co. around 1795, or so, give or take a year or two. Thanks, Steve Wilkins Houston, Tx. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fran Salyers" <fallingoaks@mac.com> To: <KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 03, 2006 11:01 AM Subject: Re: [KYMUHLEN] kimmel...morris > Hi, Linda. 3. Hi, Steve. Thanks for responding to the Wilkins reference in my post to the Muhlenberg County group. You and I have discussed our Wilkins clan before -- back in March '05 -- when you spotted one of my Wilkins inquiries on Muhlenberg GenWeb. In fact, it was your info that helped me fill in MANY blanks in my research! One of these days, I want to get to Duplin County and see if we can find out when our Wilkins ancestors arrived in N.C. -- and on this continent -- and from where. Apparently, we share the John > William > James line. I've gone back another generation based on info from another amateur researcher -- NOT confirmed. Here's my complete Wilkins line as far back as I know it (or THINK I know it!), ending with myself. My direct line is in all caps within the lists of children. "Disclaimer": I have not independently documented generations 1, 2 or 3 and, in fact, have seen info that makes me unsure of my info on the wives in generation 3. I welcome additions and corrections.
