He descends from Peter Lamb. Peter Lamb had a daughter Dorothy (Lamb) Ezell who married Jacob Jago. Their daughter Viola Louisa Jagoe married William Henry Greenwood, brother to your Matilda Caroline. If you ever work on William Henry Greenwood's line that will give you his wife's family back to Peter. That is pretty far out "on a limb" for you to be too interested!
