Bryant Cundiff died intestate. Death Certificate Muhlenberg County KY #5423 Bryant Cundiff, Carpenter Male, White, Widow, b. KY; Cause of death: Acute Pharengitis B. 24 Apr 1849; D. 28 Feb 1918; 68y, 10m, 4d Father B.Y. Cundiff b. KY; Mother S.J. Wickliffe b. KY Informant: Bell Cundiff, Cleaton Dr. T.B. Slaton, Greenville, KY Buried Wickliffe Graveyard, 01 Mar 1918 Undertaker J.L. Thomas, Cleaton Bryan (without the "t") is listed in Cemetery Book III (by Marian G. Hammers) in Crescent Cemetery. Crescent Cemetery (used to be Crescent Mines in area) is located near Cleaton, KY. Mrs. Hammers stated, "There are many, many unmarked graves in this cemetery which now seems completely abandoned. It is grown up with brush and briers. Copied Nov. 12 1972." Wickliffe Cemetery is located 3/4 mile northeast of Crescent Cemetery. There are two or three identifiable graves listed in the book. Buried next to Bryant Cundiff is Jennie H. Cundiff - 01 May 1858 - 15 Dec 1902 Death Certificates are available in KY beginning in 1911 so there would not be a DC for Jennie. Jennie was b. in Rutherford County, TN and the name was Jennie Lamb Hutchison. This name and place of birth were listed in the DAR application of Kathryn Cundiff Carter. I cannot verify. In Muhlenerg County, 13 Sep 1882 Bryant Cundiff m. Jennie Hutchison. In the 1880 Muhlenberg County census I found Jennie Hutchison, three houses away from the Cundiffs: 230-245 - Hutcherson, Richard 54 NC NC NC farmer Eliza 30 sister NC NC NC; Sallie 35 sister NC NC NC Jordan, Mariah 50 sister NC NC NC wd Hutcherson, Jane 22, niece TN NC NC Family of Bryant Y. Cundiff and Jennie Hutcheson 1910 Muhlenberg County Census Jane had died in 1902. Bryant should be there one last census but I cannot find him in the book I have.
