I have not been able to find the parents of my Richard Cash (age 22) and Rachel Spinks (age 17). They are married on the 1850 census with two small children - John (2) and Samuel (6 mo. - Samuel is our line). By 1860, they had moved to Williamson County, IL. Both Richard and Rachel are listed as being born in KY. On the 1860 IL census, they had more children: William C., Reason, Sally Ann, and Willis. On the 1870 census, children listed are : John (24), Samuel (22), Carrall (William C. 17), Reason (14), Sally (12), Willis (9), Ola (Nola 7), Avry (Arrie 4), Prier (1). Looks like all the children from Reason and earlier were born in KY, from Sally on, in IL. So they must have moved to IL between 1856 and 1858. One researcher believes Richard is the son of another Richard and unknown wife. Before hearing from the other researcher, I had thought Richard's parents might be Reno Cash (age 45) and wife Rhoda (age 42) (1850 census household #719/719). The reason I thought that, is that Reno and Rhoda Cash family had two young Spinks men living with them - Martin (23) and William Spinks (14). They also have children of their own named: Rhoda (16), Mary J. (6), Isaac (5) and Rezin (3). You notice Rezin or Reason is obviously a family name. In IL, there is a 42 year old Reason Cash from KY living in the same county in 1860. This Reason Cash also has children named Mary J., Reason, and Sally Ann (names repeated in Richard and Reno's family). Also Richard and Rachel have a son named William C. There is a William Spinks living with Reno Cash. I believe this 42 year old Reason Cash is probably a brother to Reno and an uncle to Richard. I am hoping someone can prove or disprove my theory. I need some proof and am at a brick wall. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you................... Shirley ......................scpetty00@yahoo.com

Hi Brenda I am researching Doss, Chism and Reid from Muhlenberg. Jackie
Hi, my name is Anna. I am looking for ancestors in Muhlenberg county. Doss, Crowder, Devine and Gann. Is anyone else researching these?
Hello, My name is Brenda, I am descendant of some Muhlenberg county ancestors. Doss, Fuqua, Miller, Magan, for beginners. Is there anyone else on the list researching these surnames? Brenda in Michigan
I have found in my mother's things three old photos that might be of interest to those outside my immediate family. My mother was Louella TOOLEY MILLER CLEMENTS, eldest child of Charles Minton (Mint) TOOLEY and Emma Jane WARMAN. I would be happy to send JPG copies to anyone interested. The pictures are as follows: (1) A photo of four coal miners, probably taken in about 1920. The only thing I know about the coal miner picture is that the second miner from the right is Earl HICKS, some type of relative of my mother. (Does anyone know who Earl Hicks is?) (2) A photo of four men and two girls, ages about 7. From the age of my grandfather, I'd estimate that it was taken in about 1915. They were identified by my mother as: Earl HICKS, ? ROARK, Delbert DEVINE, Mint TOOLEY (my grandfather), girls: ? ROARK and ? DEVINE. (3) A school picture that my mother identified as being at the school where her long-deceased first husband, Garrett MILLER, taught. It was probably taken in the early 1920s. It is labeled (in writing which I do not recognize) with only 4 children's names, and no identification of which of the 13 kids is which: "Miss YOUNG, Agnes HOLLAND, Louise MILLER, Mabel BOARD, Piccola (?) COBB." I also have some family pictures of the WARMANs, one HIGHERS, a few TOOLEYs, etc. If anyone has any pictures that have my mother in them, I would love to have copies. I saw one in the "Stringtown Reunion" book of my mother's Sunday School class. I have only one picture of her as a child -- about age 3 on the lap of her Grandpa Warman. I have none of her as an older child or teenager. After that, the pictures are when she was first married to Garrett. Linda Clements ******************************************************* L.L. My great grandparents were married there in 1873 (Union Township) and died within a decade. Their names were Henry F. DAWSON and Sarah E. STEWART DAWSON. In 1875, they had my grandfather, Joseph Francis DAWSON and a daughter, Rose Ella (or Rosella) was born within a couple of years. Henry died around 1878. The 1880 census (Washington Township) shows widowed Sarah, with Joseph F. and a daughter named Melindy T. (probably Melinda T.) age 2. (Melindy is a mystery. Was Sarah pregnant with her when Henry died? Did she die young or grow up and have a family?) Rosella is not listed on this census with Sarah so may have been living with another family member at that time. When Sarah died, Joseph lived with various people, among them an Aunt Lizzie Pease, and his Aunt Eddie Dawson (Jane Etherton Dawson - Henry's sister) We don't know who Rosella initially went to live with. She is reported to have lived for a while in Caddo, Oklahoma with William (Bill) KEITH and wife Frankie (Frankie is believed to be a Dawson cousin, possibley her mother and Henry Dawson were siblings). We don't know what happened to Rose Ella as an adult. She disappeared. Reported to have married and lived in Texas (unconfirmed). Joseph went to Texas as a teenaged boy and worked on ranches. He married Rebecca DOLLAR and they lived in the area of Caney and Atoka, Oklahoma the remainder of their lives. There were other young adult DAWSON's in and around Laclede County I was told. Henry had another sister, Susannah, who was married to Ephraim HARRIS (I believe Frankie Keith is their daughter as they had a daughter named Francis and had a boarder named William Keith on the 1880 census). They held land in Laclede County. They all migrated from Illinois to Missouri. Martha A. Dawson (sister of Henry and Susannah) married William H. Remmer in Laclede County 8/6/1871. What I would like to know is any information on Henry and Sarah in Laclede County, including death dates and burial location. Also, who were Sarah's parents and where was she from? I believe they were Joseph and Isabel Steward/Stewart, both born in Tennessee and living in Union Township of Laclede County at the time of Henry and Sarah's marriage, but would like proof. They are on the 1870 census in Laclede County with Sarah E. and another daughter, Melinda, but not on the 1880. They may have been in an adjoining county. Also, if any one knows, w
