Sorry my Hills which of course is my husband is all from West Virginia. His father moved here to work the coal mines and he is the only one that stayed in Kentucky. I could say how did I get that lucky but I'll be nice. Debbie Trover Hill --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Hi all, my name is Sue and I live in Princeton, Ky. I'm looking for Brooks, Virgin and Hancock ancestors. I don't like to read messages in the lower case either. I just delete them also. Sue~ I delete "all lower case" messages without reading. Such reading is too slow and difficult to convert mentally to standard English. <PRE>Hi Imogene, It was sweet of you to write. I was so glad I made that assignment a long time ago. Brenda wrote me about that. I don't remember that but sure am glad I did it. I have been interested in family history a long long time but did not get to it seriously until I retired. I taught 36 years and loved every day of it. Now I belong to the Treasure Coast Genealogical Society in Florida and several years ago I volunteered to help with the workshop, and guess what I ended up with being the Chairman and really enjoy that. We don't go to Florida until first of Nov. so I have to get someone else to do the Sept and Oct meetings. We are making big plans for our Christmas meeting this year. Last year I spent a week at Salt Lake City and would love to go again. Its something you and your sisters should plan on sometime. They have all the records there from all over the world. Last year we flew in on Sept 10 and you know what happened the next day. We were not sure we would be able to get home but when Sunday came the planes were flying and we got home fine. Good luck to you with your research. One of these days your grandchildren and great grandchildren will be so glad that you all bothered to do it.Love to all of you. Dot Harkins
<PRE>Hi Kit, Appreciated your letter suggesting good sites. Since you are checking Dukes I have a question. Do you have the record of David M. Dukes marrying Nancy Jane Hill in Muhlenberg 1860, I am trying to find the birth and death date of Nancy Jane Hill, Can you help me. Dorothy Harkins
<PRE>Thanks Deborah, But the woman I was asking about was Nancy Jane Hill who married David M. Dukes in Muhlenberg County. Nancy Jane was born in Muhlenberg and married David Dukes 25 Jan. 1860, It was her birth date and death date I was asking you about. Dorothy Harkins
If you are the Dot Harkins that taught Health and PE at Greenville High School 1950's I want to thank you for being a great teacher. And also for getting me started on this hobby of geneaolgy. I know that you have no idea you are responsible for that. My sister Brenda Webster was in one of your classes in 1960's and one assignment was to do a family chart with as much information as she could find.....we are still looking. I looked through some of my marriage records. I found where David and Nancy Jane married but it did not give any more information. they are in the 1860 and 1870 Muhlenberg County census, but have not found them in 1880. I am not related to the Dukes, but so many of them intermarried with the Knight, Oglesby, Wells that I am constantly running into them.
