    3. Many thanks Fran for transcribing these records! And, thank you for offering to email them to others! I would like to have copies of all years. I have many ties in one way or another to Muhlenberg County, and I might just find a date I don't have. I could have the middle name wrong (not sure). Thomas Earl Stewart was married to a Verdie Humphrey and had three children (John, Eula Mae, Lauren). Verdie died March 4, 1918. 3. Dear Fran, I would like a copy of each year you have of the Muhlenberg County records. I am researching a lot of different families that settled early on in Muhlenberg County. They are Rhoads, Jackson, Bell, Robertson, Bradley, Tipton, McKinney, Wilson, Jenkins, etc. As a result, I wind up researching allied lines of my families. I grew up on the original Jackson farm near Drakesboro and have done extensive research from that area, including the Cundiff-Jackson connection of Don Casbier. I appreciate all the hard work you are doing with the Muhlenberg County records and know how frustrating it can be to read some of those old records. I am currently working on a couple of the Crittenden County, KY census records. I live in Marion, KY. Thank you. Wickliffe was the owner. The mine shaft was at Browder, and I'm told that it extended underground for seven miles or more to the East, near Green River at Rochester. May be you should check your ancestral background more closely, let me know if you find anything. Ivan J. Tucker

    3. Hi Sandra, I have some Moore relatives that lived and died in Muhlenberg Co. Do you have any info on any of these names? Levi Moore-wife Dorcas Ann Mercer Amariah Moore-wife Eleanore(Sally)Boggess William Riley Moore-wife Miley J. Mayes(could be Millie) also have seen her last name as Stevens which is confusing, I show a marriage for them under both of the names Mayes and Stevens for the same date. I would sure love to know who her parents are. I have a marriage date for them of Dec. 18, 1854. William Lonzo Clark Moore, also known as W.L.C. or Clark, wife Susie Anna McPherson, she died on April 23,1912 at least that is the date I have and I have never been able to find a death certificate for her, they lived in Todd Co. Ky, but I do not know what Co. she died in, William died in Muhlenberg Co. I think they married in 1877, but I have not found a marriage certificate for them. If you need more info, I do have a little more. Anything you could find, would be greatly appreciated. I hope you do not get over whelmed with requests. It is very nice of you to offer your services. Thanks for any help, Karen P.S. 2. Hi, Don, I was born "down the road apiece" from Cedar Dale School in 1929. I was the daughter to George and Dee O'Neal. We lived on the Sears place but moved into town ca. 1935 before the dates you mentioned. Several years ago Lennie Dennis and I did a book on the Mt. Carmel church including the Sears Cemetery. Lennie is now deceased but she provided the following: Sears Cemetery Minnie Edith Casebier d/o Leroy and Agnes (Helsley) Cundiff w/o John Robert Casebier 12 Aug 1872 - 19 Nov 1949 (No Marker) Other Casebiers close by: Alpha Marie Casebier d/o Thimoleon and Mary (Curtis) Hatcher w/o John Robert Casebier, Jr. 12 Apr 1912 - 06 Sep 1928 Carlie Casebier d/o Herman & Myrtle Hatcher 30 May 1937 - 15 Jun 1937 Children of Willie & Bernnice (Hatcher) Casebier Walton Elwood Casebier 10 Oct 1937 - 10 Aug 1938 Twins: Virginia Dorris Casebier - Stillborn 19 Jul 1939 William Casebier - Stillborn 19 Jul 1939 Obituary, Newspaper not given. "Mrs. Minnie Casebier of Drakesboro Dies" Drakesboro. Mrs. Minnie E. Casebier, 77, died at 5:45 p.m., Saturday, November 19, (1949) at the Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. She had lived in Drakesboro for five years and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Drakesboro Baptist Church, the Rev. Everett Hall officiating, with burial in Sears Cemetery. Surviving are four sons, Will and Henry Casebier, Owensboro; John Casebier, Drakesboro; Thurman Casebier, California; three daughters, Mrs. George Durnaway and Mrs. Myrtle Gas- ____, Owensboro, Mrs. Elsie Hope . . . . (apparently rest was obliterated or torn away). The data I show on John Robert Casebier (Sr.) (not included in book) is that he was born 28 Jan 1864 and died 23 Nov 1942 and buried in the Vanlandingham Cemetery (is this Weir or Sears?). If I'm wrong on any of the above, drop me a line and let me know! Dorann O'Neal Lam

    3. Hello, I'm name is Don Kornick and I live in Louisville. My mother was born to Hubert Stewart of Muhlenberg County, which was the son of James Andrew Stewart and Ida Mae Gregory, James Andrew was the son of Lewis Stewart and Nancy McElvain. I have a Thomas Earl Stewart born April 4, 1881 in Muhlenberg County, died June 14, 1964 and is buried in Coleman Cemetery. as the youngest son of Lewis and Nancy. I could have the middle name wrong (not sure). Thomas Earl Stewart was married to a Verdie Humphrey and had three children (John, Eula Mae, Lauren). Verdie died March 4, 1918. His second wife was Ada Wiggins. They had 4 children (Hildarea, Thoms E. Jr., Anna Marjorie and Philis. I don't have anything on her. Then I have him married to a Margaret Sorrles and with them having 6 children (Vance Leon, Kenneth, Addie, Betty, Orvil, and Tommy). This Tommy must be yours. I would like a copy of that pic. I also have a group pic of kids of Cherry Hill school. >From: "woody67" <woody67@bellsouth.net> >Reply-To: KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com >To: KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [KYMUHLEN] The Stewart Family >Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2006 20:03:02 -0500 > >I HAVE AN OLD SCHOOL PICTURE HERE SOMEWHERE ,IF I CAN FIND IT ILL E MAIL IT >TO YOU JIMMY >----- Original Message ----- From: "DeJuana York" <dejuana_york@yahoo.com> >To: <KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Monday, April 10, 2006 11:32 AM >Subject: Re: [KYMUHLEN] The Stewart Family > > >>Hey Jimmy, >> Your right Leon still lives in Louisville. 3. Ann, Jesse Lee first appeared in Muhlenberg Co. census in 1840 - age 50-60. In home are: males: 1 - 10/15, 1 - 16/20, 1 - 20/30, 1- 50/60 females: 1- under 5, 1 - 16/20, 1 - 20/30, 1 - 50/60 He still appears in 1860 census, taken June 6, 1860. Dist. 1, Greenville Post Office. pg. 5, HH# 33 Jesse Lee, 85 farmer $500. $500. N.C. Hetta Lee, 75 domestic N.C. James W. Jarvis, 10 Ky (hence he died after June 6, 1860) Assumption that he came between 1830 & 1840, since he did not appear there in 1830. Checking Jesse Lee in N.C. prior to this, best bet might be to start with New Hanover, N.C. Age wise, looks like closest bet in 1830. But we all know how the age thing goes. From book, Muhlenberg County, Ky Abstracts of Wills and Administrations: pg 68 "JESSE LEE, will of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky dated December 2, 1858. To wife Hetty and at her death or remarriage, property is to go to children, unnamed. William W. Martin named Executor. Witnesses: C. C. Martin and F. J. Martin. Proven Muhlenberg County Court March 1861. Will Book III, page 195. (hence must have died Feb. or March 1861) You can get copy of complete Will by contacting Muhlenberg Co. Clerk of Court Office in Greenville by giving name, & Will Book & Pg #. 3. I would appreciate any information on the family of John and Martha Durall, Durell, Dural. They came from Onslow Co. NC, Duplin Co NC, Cumberland Co NC and ended up in Muhlenberg in the late 1700s. John Died there in 1808 and Martha or her daughter Martha married a Keith. Several of John and Martha's children went to Brown Co Illinois, Union County Illinois and Massac Co Illinois. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. 3. Dear Sandy: My grandmother was " Minnie Edith Cundiff ". She was married to " John Robert Casebier " . I can`t find her birth or death records but I know she was 77yrs old when she died and was buried with Grandpa at the Sears Cemetary. She belonged to the Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Drakesboro,Ky , which is where her funeral was held. I do know she died around 1947 which " of course " means she must have been born around 1870. I know grandpa was born in 1863. I am trying to picture Cherry Hill School. I know where Cedar Dale School was out toward Paradise from Drakesboro. We lived just east of the school on the south side of the highway in the late 30`s and early 40`s. ...Don Casebier ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sandra Lewis" <mineya@sbcglobal.net> To: <KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 12:15 AM Subject: [KYMUHLEN] Marriage records > Years ago I was in Muhlenberg County and literally copied everything I > could find on GLENN, CUNDIFF, FERGUSON & WICKLIFFE. 3. Sandy, It is very nice of you to offer to do lookups. I'm sure you will get a lot of requests. When you have the time, could you possibly look into the Muhlenberg LEE family? The ancestor I am most interested in is Jesse Lee. I know that he was born in North Carolina and died in Muhlenberg County around 1859-60. I am trying to find out when he arrived in Muhlenberg and where in North Carolina he came from. Any other information where he is mentioned is also of interest. I have been working on him for almost 10 years off and on so there is absolutely no hurry, just when you have time.
