Janette, I don't know of your GOSSETT's. They are the right age to be either brothers or cousins of my husband's grandfather, Ed (John William Edward) GOSSETT. I only have Ed for a child of Elijah, so I don't know anything about his other children (although I would like to). William T.'s father Alfred J. Davis, b. abt 1834, possibly in Indiana, d. after 1900; married Jane McCoy (first wife). They apparently had 2 children: Louisa and William T. By subsequent wives, William T. appears to have produced these children: Mary, Emma, Franklin, Omar (1892), Frona (? 1895), Nannie (abt 1897). I'm unable to confirm that these subsequent wives and children are connected with My William T. Davis. As you might expect, that was a fairly common name, and I need to do more research to figure out if this was the same man in all of these households. I'm all but certain of the first two wives. Deborah, I don't know where you might find "Early Settlers of Muhlenberg County" by Murphy, but I can recommend "A New History of Muhlenberg County" by Paul Camplin. I've spotted a few mis-statements (such as referring to one of my ancestors as Jesse Williams instead of his correct name, Jesse Wilkins), but it's full of interesting info. Mr. Camplin will even sign the book if you request it. It's my understanding that the price is $28.95 plus $1.95 for shipping -- but you may want to check on that. GOSSETT (1879-936, b. 23 August 1903. Also, another sister to my grandmother, Edna Lee RUDDELL, b. 18 April 1886, Christian, KY,; d. 8 Cecember 1952,Muhlenberg, KY; buried New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville, Hopkins, Co., KY, was married (#1) to Arthur Floyd GOSSETT (1881-1953).
