    3. Just from my quick look at the 1850 Porter County, IN census, it looks like Orlinda is Lorinda C. Gossett, and her family is on the same page as David Skinner and wife Susannah. Might add, this Gossett family is not related to mine that I know of at this time. 1850 Porter County, IN - Liberty Township 722/722 David Skinner 29 NY Susannah 28 IN Mary 8 IN John Skinner 6 IN Elizabeth Stoney 18 PA Emery Moore 30 DE Levick 5 DE 727/727 Charity Gossett 57 VA Lorinda C. 22 IN William J. 18 IN Chauncy S. 12 IN 729/729 John Gossett 30 IN Jane 25 OH Albert 4 IN Levisa 2 IN John Renna 8 IN There was a William Gossett in Porter County, IN in 1840. 3. My Muhlenberg connection has been a brick wall for 40 years! Catherine married John Levi Pendley January 1833 in Muhlenberg Co. John was from Butler Co., KY. I have never found Catherine's parents. There is a John Ewing who died 1847 in Muhlenberg and his wife Catherine Mefford, who died there in 1844. However, I have not found any proof that these were Catherine's parents. I also have never found proof of the spelling of Catherine's middle name of Cogle. My grandmother, Eva Mae Pendley Langston, said it sounded like cobra to her, as a little girl. Any other Ewing researchers in Muhlenberg that can help me? Thanks! 3. Bill, I sent this several days ago but then realized my email address was incorrect, so here it is again. Best Wishes, Lettie Kirby Bill, Do you know this person? She has the same info as you on www.Ancestry.com... but no marriage. Contact: Rita Mosley http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mosley&id=I1027 check her info. There is a marriage in Mercer Co. which may fit. Rita's info says her George Sanford married in Ky. It may be worth sending for the wedding records from Mercer Co.. How sure are you of Georges death? Marriage Mercer Co., KY: Bohon, Tilly to George W. Sanford on 10 FEB 1825 Iwas unable to locate him the the 1850 Census. So this marriage may fit. Does anyone have access to death records in Muhlenberg Co., KY. I have at least 3 deceased Kirby's there but am unable to locate them. One is known to be in South Carrollton Cemetery, South Carrollton, Muhlenberg, KY. James C. (G) Kirby b. July 7, 1850 d.June 25, 1863 Best Wishes, Lettie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Sanford" <williamhsanford@BELLSOUTH.NET> To: <KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2006 1:44 PM Subject: [KYMUHLEN] Marriage Record of George Sanford >I am looking for the marriage record of George Sanford,my >ggrandfather.George was born abt1810 in Virginia. He died in Muhlenberge >County on 8th of Jan 1850, I have no record about his wife, who she was, etc. >any info would be greatly appreciated.Time is running out.Like so many >folk'I have waited until the later years to start putting things >together.many, many thanks for any effort. > > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection. 3. My grandmother was a Stewart, Callie b. 1904 Ohio Co..... I have looked over my Stewart line and can't find this couple.... I don't think Thelma was from Ohio Co..... According to the 1930 census, she would have been b. 1907, that works.... I wonder if Thelma remarried after Earnest died in 1934? I think this is Thelma's parents and will look into it more.... This is great is news, thanks for sending.... 3. Phil I also descend from another brother of Barnett Stewart & Joshua Stewart - John Stewart (also lived for a time in Muhlenberg Co.). All three were sons of William Stewart of NC & Unknown. John Stewart was a widower and listed in his will his only child Sealy Guess (Cecelia Sue Stewart Guess) she married James Guess 16 Feb 1818 in Davidson Co. TN. and then they were listed on the 1820 Caldwell Co. KY census. The two witnesses to the Will was Joshua Stewart Jr. & William Riley Stewart. John Stewart and his nephew (son of Joshua Stewart & Ritta Annis Unknown) William Riley Stewart were dismissed by letter from the Unity Baptist Church in Muhlenberg Co. in 1845. The two of them show up in Caldwell Co. where James & Cecelia Stewart Guess were living. William Riley Stewart married Constance Guess daughter of James & Cecelia Guess. Wm. Riley Stewart & Constance Guess were 1st cousins once removed. Within two months of John & William Stewart leaving Muhlenberg Co. so does Joshua & Ritta Annis Stewart and end up in Caldwell Co. They were also dismissed by letter from the Unity Baptist Church. I suppose that the young son William Riley Stewart was sent to find a place for the family to live in Caldwell Co. William Riley Stewart born 1824 Muhlenberg Co. KY. A lot of the Stewart's moved back and forth between Muhlenberg Co. & Caldwell Co., some even went as far as Crittenden Co. but the majority of them (except mine) went back to Muhlenberg Co. William Riley Stewart & his brother in law John Guess both fought for the Union during the Civil War. They moved to Livingston Co. KY where they are listed in the tax list starting in 1861. My great grandfather James Stewart b 9 Aug 1850 was born in Caldwell Co. He married Charity Carolyn Suttles 19 Mar 1875 in Livingston Co. KY. My grandfather was also born in Livingston Co. KY. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Phillip Rogers" <p2rogers@msn.com> To: <KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 14, 2006 9:25 AM Subject: Re: [KYMUHLEN] ROGERS, STEWART > My grandmother was a Stewart, Callie b. 1904 Ohio Co..... > I have looked over my Stewart line and can't find this couple.... > I don't think Thelma was from Ohio Co..... > According to the 1930 census, she would have been b. 1907, > that works.... > I wonder if Thelma remarried after Earnest died in 1934? > I think this is Thelma's parents and will look into it more.... > > This is great is news, thanks for sending.... > > Phil Rogers > > > >>From: "Brenda Reeder" <kyseeker@comcast.net> >>Reply-To: KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com >>To: KYMUHLEN-L@rootsweb.com >>Subject: Re: [KYMUHLEN] ROGERS, STEWART >>Date: Thu, 13 Apr 2006 19:42:47 -0600 >> >> Name: James E Rodgers >> Date of Birth: 11 Sep 1928 >> County: Hopkins >> Mother's Name: Thelma Stewart >> Volume Number: 085 >> Certificate Number: 42303 >> Volume Year: 1928 >> >> >>Could this Thelma Stewart be the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Stewart and >>Annie Lee Blakeley - Thelma L.
