His grandfather was William Ebbing, and his great-grandfather, Henry Ebbing, of North Carolina. His maternal grandfather was William E. Davis, who was a son of Thomas Davis. William E. Davis was a soldier of the Mexican War from Tennessee, and afterwards was in the Confederate Army, coming to Christian County, near Haley's Mill. Henry Ebling was born in Christian County, Kentucky, January 3, 1896, and was educated in the county schools. 3. I don't know if this will prove to be anything, but I remember an old man, living on Wickliffe St., named Tom Davis. He had two sons living there, too, named Ralph, and G.W. I'm not sure of any women, though there seemed to be a couple of them there, too. Also, I think I remember Ralph getting married in 1961 or 1962, but I may be wrong. He was talking about it around that time, as I recall. I'm not sure when old Tom died, but I knew them around 1958-63, or thereabouts, and he had to be at least in his late-60's or early 70's at that time. I used to run with Tom's grandson, Bobby Daniels, who visited during the summers from Indiana. I think he lived in Washington, Ind., but I'm not too sure, after all these years. Anyway, he fell in with the rest of us, and we would go camping, or just hang around. I hope this sheds some light on the subject. 3. Hello, all you DAVIS researchers. My DAVIS line is one of my major "brick walls". Tradition has it that my Nancy DAVIS was born in Halifax County, Virginia, in January 1824. She married Josiah Dobbs in Logan County KY Dec. 7, 1837, and their first child, James Calvin was born in 1840 somewhere in Tennessee. Nancy and Josiah moved to Muhlenberg County and had a very large family, fifteen children in all, most of whom Nancy outlived. Josiah died in 1880 and Nancy DAVIS Dobbs died in Muhlenberg County after 1900. Does anyone know who her parents might be? Please give me a clue and make my day!! Thank you for any suggestion you might have. Jean C.

    3. Diane: Sorry, I have not seen a Peter Kincheloe. Do you have any information on who his parents were and years? I have run into a book called "A Historyof Muhlenberg County." It is written by Otto A Rothert. It is on Heritage Quest at the genealogy libraries. Great book on the early times of the County. My great-grandmother, Agnes May Abercrombie was a sister to William. I have a little information on Myrtle, though not a lot. Feel free to contact me for what I do have. Are you by chance related to Billie, who is now deceased and whose mother was Myrtle? Thelma My great Grand mother was the daughter of Alexander Holeman and Nancy "?". I'm not sure if they are related to Myrtle. She was born 1861 in Jackson Tennessee. Beverly
