My great-great-grandmother's second husband was William Paul Dehart, born 14 Jan 1854 in Morgan Co., Ky, died 25 May 1922 in Rowan Co., Ky, buried in Black-Trent Cemetery on Trent Ridge near Elliottville. (I am descended from her first marriage, to Sammy Clark, but he died young, so my great-grandmother was raised by W.P. & Susie from the time she was 2. W.P.'s first wife was his first cousin, Elizabeth Mary Jane Dehart, dau of Stephen Dehart & Eliza Clark.) I am not sure of W.P.'s parents. On the one hand, the only William Dehart of the appropriate age I could find in the 1870 census was with Thomas and Patience: 1870 census of Elliott Co., KY, Martinsburg precinct 3, family #41: Thomas Deheart, 51; Patience, 45; Amos D., 19; William, 16; Lydia, 13; Stephen, 9; Joshua, 3. All born in Ky. On the other hand, my great-grandmother's Dehart half-siblings listed their father's siblings as "Al, Jimmy, Kern, Sarah who never married, and another daughter who married a Caudill." This list matches much better with the known children of John Dehart (Thomas's brother) and Nancy Bumgartner than it does with those of Thomas & Patience. (I show the children of John & Nancy as James William Dehart b. ca 1841 who married first Rebecca J. Gilliam and second Nancy Jane Sparks, Martha b. ca 1843, Susan b. ca 1846, John R. b. ca 1848, Hazel Green b. 1851 who married Amanda, Sarah b. ca 1853, and Allen b. ca 1856 who married Susan Cline.
