    3. I have a copy of a full page article published in a local Morgan County paper, I do not have the name of the newspaper, it was in a Sesquicentennial Supplement , Oct 12,1972 the article and copies of the original muster rolls for the Ky men who served in the 5th Ky. CSA were on display at a county sorghum festival the week end of Oct 12 1972. The 5th was incorporated into the" Orphans Brigade". In a nine day period from Oct 19 to 28 1861 a total of more than 400 men volunteered at West Liberty for the 5th Ky. They comprised all of companies A-B-C and parts of D and E. in addition some of the men followed the volunteers to Prestonsburg and were sworn in at that place as members of Co E. The 5th was Capt. Swango's Co. and contained members of Morgans leading families. In a 120 day campaign from Chikamaunga to Atlanta, the Orphans Brigade was reduced from 1140 to less than 200,all but 50 had either been killed or wounded twice. I have not found this list on any of the Ky or Orphans Brigade CW sites, if anyone wants a look up for a name from Morgan belonging to the 5th Ky CSA. I will be happy to do so. Also.... If anyone knows the name of the newspaper this was published in let me know as I believe they would want credit for the article. Min
