Hi Judith. Thanks. Russell Co Va was part of Washington Co at one point. I believe the Fergusons and Hamiltons were there as well. I was hoping to come up with some more interesting names that might clue me in to Farquier especially. Do you know of a Coleman Brown whose son married a Hornbeck? Let me explain why I ask and send you the information and maybe you can tell me what you think. I keep coming across Daniel Brown and Elizabeth Coleman. Allied names fall in line with allied names for George Washington and Zachariah Lewis (there's an interesting guy we need to look at more!). One allied name that stands out is Lightfoot since Thomas C Brown's commander was a Lt. Lightfoot. Anyway. Daniel Brown married to Elizabeth Coleman probably had a son named Daniel married to a Frances! The researcher who provided the info to me stopped there as Daniel and Frances didn't interest her but the second Daniel is the perfect age for our Daniel and lives in Culpepper Co and has land on the Potomac. In his family are lots of Coleman Browns. Then I find that some Coleman Brown of VA has a son married to a Hornbeck (info at bottom). AND I find that there is a Coleman Brown living in Morgan County early on as well. Here's a little about Coleman (please note that a Michael OXER is mentioned and can you tell me what a VENDUE is?): 1. This journal was kept by her in the early 1900's and contains quite a bit of genealogical information. She was, (according to Don Haney, my relative & the person that sent me the material) a "Preacher" and went to religious revivals all over Missouri, Arkansas and surrounding states. I found her writing to be vivid with religious feeling and the love for her family shines through her work. "Grandpop's father, Ruben Brown married an Artman, was a Methodist. John Allen Brown was oldest, Jacob Brown, Deliah Brown and Joseph M. Brown. Ruben Brown's father name Billy lived to be about 100 (years) and Baptist. Billy's children Ruben, Jim Brown, Barbary daughter, Bill Brown, John Brown, one went to Kentucky and Joe Brown. Billy Brown soon followed Daniel Boone into Kentucky. But a peaceable quiet man. He and his wife were good Baptists. Great man to make poetry. Made several songs said to be five. Composed one about a man that was shot and kiled by another. This man came to grandpop's house when he (John Allen) was a boy and sang songs until ten o'clock that he had composed full of poetry and rhymes. Come to church at Huntsville and stay for a week at a time and sing and pray. A powerful man in prayer." pg. 330. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, April 13, 1999 7:44 PM Subject: Re: Washington Co Va and Farquier co Va origins >Hi Laura, > >Michael Auxier II died in Washington County, VA on March 22, 1780.
