I was very excited to read your Email. Wm. Granville(Buck) and Henrietta Brooks Short are my GGgrandParents and Alexander is my Great Grandfather. Betty Lou Elam called me one day from West Liberty an d told me she had found the graves. My husband and I went down there and up to the graves. We have been thinking of going down there and put a stone on those graves. At least a marker of some kind-meant to this year but my husbband had a light stroke and he doesn't like to drive much anymore. I took a picture of Alexanders grave an d when we were there a stone had crumbled right next to Alexanders and I wondered if that was Mollies? Did you think Alexanders stone said 1871? I couldn't decide if it was '70 or '71. In the Morgan Co. census of 1870 it said there was a John W. short age 2 in Calvin and Louisa Shorts house. That was my Grandfather. Alexander died at Calvins house. John Short married LUcy Utterback in 1891 and they had 3 children my Mother (Rebecca) another girl Etta and a son Willie. my Mother was b, 1900 and they left West Liberty when she was ca 18 mos. old. They moved to CAsey co. Ky and my Grandfather died in 1908 at 40 yrs.old. Lucy remarried and died in Boyle Co. Ky in 1926. This may be more than you cared to hear.
