Jan 8, 2000 Greetings , I am researching the VanCleve family of Morgan County and am hoping some of you will be able to fill in some blanks for me. <smile> Samuel H. VanCleve b.July 1882 son of William Franklin VanCleve & Polly Baker Samuel's first wife was Susann Havens, dau of Elkanah Havens & Louanna Barnett They married June 21, 1900 Samuel's second wife was Lula Ferguson Havens ( my ggrandmother) Lula was born March 1886, dau of John Charles Ferguson & Nancy Caroline Nickles . Samuel & Lula married Nov 22,1906...Morgan Co, Ky There seems to be a mystery ( of sorts ) concerning Samuel VanCleve's death..... Have heard he was shot while in his cornfield by a man who thought Samuel was his brother, William Gardner VanCleve....anyone know anything about this incident?
