I'm really confused on this one, and hope someone can give me some advice or information. The 1830 census of Morgan County lists a Mary Patrick. At least that is what it looks like - quite clear. Here's what it shows: 1 male 10 - 15 1 male 15 - 20 1 male 30 - 40 2 females 15 - 20 Normally, I'd think the 30 - 40 year old male would be head of house hold. But is Mary a man's name? I've not seen it for a man before. I hope someone knows about who this person is. Or perhaps the census taker mistakenly listed female head of household in the male column??? Or is one of the 15 - 20 year old females actually the head of household and a young widow/divorcee?? This family is in the right place and has a son the right age to be my 3x great grandfather Samuel Patrick. They are only 7 households away for William Coffee, father of Emilee Coffee whom my Samuel Patrick married. Bud, Just a shot in the dark but could Mary possibly be Mark? DAVE
