My husband's great grandmother was a Cassity: Martha Frances "Fannie" Cassity (1854-1941) who married Henry Lewis DYER. Fannie's parents were Leander CASSITY and Elizabeth ADAMS. I have not figured out who Leander's father was, or his mother's maiden name. The 1850 Morgan County Census lists: “CASSITY, Elizabeth, age 43, born in KY Leander, age 17 Peter, age 16 William, age 9 John, age 6” If any of these names are familiar, I have a bit of information on this family that I would be glad to share with you.
