The Joseph CARTER you note as Jr. is the same as the 4th generation Joseph CARTER identified as IV on the Chart. My Cyntha Ann and your Cynthia Elizabeth appear to have the same parents and are probably the same person - but the birth dates are about 10 years apart. The only parent I have for her mother, Elizabeth Anne SCOTT is the father, Robert SCOTT. Cyntha Ann's siblings are shown in the chart as generation 5. Richard Menifee OAKLEY and Cyntha Ann CARTER had three children before her death in 1845. He married Malinda "Belinda" LEWIS, b 5 December 1826, on 19 February 1846 in West Liberty, Morgan Co, KY. They had six children between 1848 and 1862: John Worth; James F.; Jerome; Napoleon B.; Cyntha; and Leonidas Polk OAKLEY.
