    3. It would seem it is the same Shelby Elam, Joanne. There was another Shelby - perhaps he was either the father or uncle of Shelby S. I did not know of the book. In his speech Shelby S. Elam refers to a book on the Elam history written by in the 1930's or 40's by a Harvey Elam.
