    3. Kathy; My Fanny Lewis isn't the same as yours she was born earlier and married Owen Adkins. I do have other information on the Lewis family from Morgan Co., Ky. Fanny was born March 1823 and married April, 1848. What other Lewis's are you looking for? 1. HOWARD & PHIPPS
    2. jcp
    3. Hi all, I need some help with my HOWARD and PHIPPS lines. Stephen Howard married Elizabeth Phipps in Morgan Co.; 1846. I believe he was the son of Moses and Mary (Polly) Patrick Howard. Elizabeth was the daughter of John and Cynthia Howard Phipps. Did Stephen die or divorce Elizabeth? Their two sons were living in the household of Moses Howard in the 1850 Morgan Co Census; Levi (3) and Stephen (1). A Margarett Howard (20), was living with the family, as well. Is Margarett (Elizabeth Phipps)? Elizabeth Howard is listed in the 1860 Census as the head of the household, with Levi (13), Stephen (11) and two daughters, Martha (5) & Cyntha (4). If Stephen died or left the family, who is the father of the girls? A Stephen Howard married Rebecca Minix and they are listed in the 1860 Census with children; Harrison (4), Lark (2), and Sarah Jordan (5). Is this another Stephen, or the one who was once married to Elizabeth Phipps? I could certainly use some help here. Please let me hear from you. Marilyn Phipps email: [email protected]

    1. Sargent family
    2. Charlene Malone
    3. Sherry, Would like to find more on the Sargent family myself. My grandmother, Ann Lykins Cordle was born in Morgan Co. and her mother was Almarinda Sargent who married John Will Lykins. Almarinda Sargent`s parents were Thomas J. Sargent, born September 30, 1852 and Amelia Ann Elam, born February 12, 1853. Thomas` father was Jim Sargent. I have no dates for him nor do I know the name of his spouse. If we can make some connection together that would be nice or maybe someone out there can help the both of us. Charlene

    3. I forgot who asked what an ahnentafel was but thought I'd explain to those who don't know and send a part of mine. Number yourself 1, your father 2 and your mother 3. Then your father's father is 4, your father's mother is 5, your mother's father is 6 and your mother's mother is 7. You follow this pattern along the list of your lines. The father of any number is double that number. Here is part of my ahnetafel. I haven't updated it in a while so consider it a work in progress: 1. Laura Brown b. 26 Nov 1961, Alamogordo, NM. 1. GATH KY-long note about Ramey and Brown
    2. Laura McKenzie
    3. I'm sorry again to those of you getting this note twice but I know some Morgan County Ramey folks might be interested in this information as well. Any Ramey researcher knowing who William P Ramey is, could you let me in on the information? Thanks! (I descend from Rachel Ramey and Eleazor Lemaster). > If the note is too long, use your FIND command to go the Browns on the page. WHO IS MANLEY BROWN???? Of interest is the RAMEY family and the SAunders family (hopefully I'll get the Saunders link to the Browns out to you soon). The Rameys married to Mary Bryan Van Hoose's siblings... Mary's son, Jesse, married Edy Brown grandaughter of Thomas C. Brown (my grgrgrandmother). Edy Brown's nephew, Captain Edward Brown had children with Rachel Ramey's grandaughter, Mary Lemaster (my grgrgrandmother). > > Read on.... > Gath, Fleming County, Kentucky > > No Trace of Gath Remains Today > > Small Pioneer Settlement Has All But Been Forgotten > by Dr. William M. Why it > was named Gath is an interesting and unanswered question. Yet, Gath was a town of the > Philistines and not one of the popular Hebrew (Israelite) cities. On July 9, 1798, two years after Flemingsburg was > founded, the county court of Fleming established Gath on the lands of > Byram Routt, a large land owner in that area.
