Hi again! Ask and you shall receive, the new GenConnect boards are now up and running faster then I thought. I didn't think I would hear from them for a few weeks. You can now post your family bible records, deeds, pension records and wills onto the Morgan Co. page to share with others. These are the same boards we now use to post queries, obits and BIOS. Feel free to start posting to them now. Remember these boards are self explanatory and please post the correct records to each one. For example: Do not post a query on the bible records board or a pension record on the query board. All postings not made to the proper boards will be deleted by myself. Thanks again for your time. Deanna Morgan CC
Deanna, thank you for all your work. We were in Morgan County last month for a short visit. We enjoyed it, unfortunately short spurts of rain (even in the very dry season) and high humidity prevented taking some pictures we had planned to take. Have a good trip. Bette Jo Gevedon Whetstone
Deanna, Just a note of thanks for all your work in getting everything online and keeping up with such a demanding job as coordinator AND mother! You are to be commended! You deserve some time off . . . enjoy and relax! Blessings, Jan Ross [email protected] http://fow.dynip.com ICQ #18767082 "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. Hi everyone! I just have a few things to tell you all that are new on the Morgan Co. page. I have updated the pictures site with new photos of the Hamilton's, Oney, Steeles, and Cantrells and also of the Caney School. I have finally put the1852 deaths online. Hooray! I still will be working on the Lyons Vital Statistics Volumes 1-5 of births, deaths, and marriages and trying to add them online as my time permits. But being 8 1/2 months pregnant with my third child, preparing my 5 year old for kindergarten and taking care of my 2 1/2 year old, my time is not as available for "Mommy things" as I would like. But I am dedicated to getting these Lyons Volumes Online. Thanks for bearing with me while I work on them. Within the next few weeks, I will be placing online GenConnect Boards where you can post Bible Records, Deeds, Pension Records, and Wills. These boards are just like the query, bio and obit boards that are online now. As of August 14-25, the Assistant Coordinator for Morgan Co., Ann Lemaster-Applegate is fully in charge of the website while I take a much needed vacation. I will be going to southeastern Ohio to visit my grandparents. While I am there, I plan to take my grandfather on our annual summer trip to Morgan Co. and do some research and take pictures to add to the page. If you have any questions or comments, please direct them to Ann during this time period. I will be in touch with her during my vacation and hope to meet up with her somewhere. Thanks everyone for your time! Deanna Morgan CC
Hi, I'm afraid my trip has been postponed yet again. My daughter had her baby girl on July 23rd. I have been helping her the past couple of weeks with the baby and her other daughter who is 21 months. I had Taylor (21 mos) for a few days to give Mom a break. Now I need to make a trip for our business and after that we have a retail show which I will need to prepare for. All this puts me into mid-September. I am indeed going to make the trip...finding the right time seems to be a problem but I will let you know. Thanks, Daisi At 12:25 PM 8/7/99 EDT, you wrote: >Gee I thought I had lost your message, I think I am replying to an old one >but anyway I found you. Gee I thought I had lost your message, I think I am replying to an old one but anyway I found you. This is August and you are supposed to come to Ky. Right? I have had it on my mind recently. I hope to see you. Please email me before and give me an approximate time you may be here, I want to be home. Anxious to meet you. I called your Uncle again but he was out on patio and the phone wouldn't reach and I told the Lady not to bother him and to tell him I would try to see him before long. Have a safe trip. Geraldine

David, I'm not researching the McKenzie family, but read about the murder, in a copy of an old newspaper clipping. Buck
Buck, I have McKenzie family heritage in Morgan Co. Are you personally looking for McKenzies? Or, are you passing on the information about the murder of a McKenzie in West Liberty? My grandfather was born in West Liberty and died in Ashland. David
Does anybody here research McKenzie family of Morgan Co Ky. I have a article telling about a murder of a McKenzie on election day, in West Liberty. This happened in the 1890's. Buck

Vivian, Probably Dr. Jeremiah Wilson, born 30 Jun 1852, died 24 Apr 1917. I don't know who his parents were. But he was known as Doc Wilson. And he was the father of three out-of-wedlock children of Margaret Ann Black (1859-1905), daughter of John A. Black and Rebecca Epperhart, so sowing wild oats seems to have been one of his proclivities. See: http://www.best.com/~tpettit/family/pettit/FG17/FG17_164.htm // Teri
Do you have Emily Lykins, daughter of David and Mahila Lykins, on your roster? She married Franklin Whitley (b. 2 Feb 1850), son of Moses and Jane (Smith) Whitley. They had three children I know of, Margarett, John and a third son born about 1883. I publish a Whiteley family newsletter. Good luck in your family reunion; I look forward to hearing from you. Here I am again. I had several requests from both Morgan and Bath Countians to let them know about my GGandmothers Death certificate. If you remember, I had gotten my GGgrandfather William Augustus McKenzies death certificate that had been doctored either thru the son trying to protect his father or someone at the clerk office deciding the son had made a mistake. The name should have read William McKenzie son of Rebecca McKenzie and Thomas D. Perry. Instear it read: Rebecca Perry and Tom McKenzie. Well, Williams wife was illigitimate too and we knew it but after williams death certificate was found I had to find Permelia Brown McKenzies DC as well to see what it said. Here is the content of it. File # 15391 County: Breathitt City: Jackson Full name: Amelia McKenzie Sex: female----white----widow Date of death May 1, 1919 I attended deceased from April 25 to May 1, 1919 DOB: May 12, 1845 (Cause of death infection of the face) Contributing factor Rheumatism......duration 2 years) age 74 years 11 months 19 days Occupation: none Birthplace: Morgan Co., KY Name of father: _______Wilson born : Morgan Co., KY. Maiden name of mother: Amanda Brown Birthplace of mother: Morgan Co. KY Filed May 1, 1919 Mrs. W. Bach signed Wilgus Bach May 3, 1919 This DC gave no place of burial either I am sad to say. So, this clears up the mystery once and for all that the father to all of Amanda Brown's children was indeed a man named Wilson. It was said he was called Dr. Wilson. Anyone with an ancestor nicknamed Doc. Dr. or what ever Wilson....please let me know who he was so I can continue my lineage. I promise I am not looking for Child Support...:-) Thanks to all who showed an interest. Blessings! Vivian <>< BTW If you would like to be able to get your DC's in about a week instead of months LMK. I have a name.
