Anyone ever heard of it or know the exact location? Please write me by personal email. I do not want to tie up everyone's mailbox with this. Thanks everyone! Deanna Morgan CC

    3. Does anyone know anything about the circumstances that find my grandfather Troy ELAM in his cousin Charlie ELAM's household in the 1900 Morgan County, Kentucky census and in his great uncle Ben ELAM's household in 1910? Or when he left one place for the other? Or when he left Ben's household? Troy was in Middletown, Ohio by December of 1916. Troy was the son of Elizabeth (Betty) ELAM and an as yet unknown AMYX man (perhaps Roland?). 3. Carole, I had forgotten that I had seen the 1920 Wolfe County census index on line when I wrote. I am interested in finding out how to obtain the 1900 and 1910 printed copies. I looked at microfilms of the 1910 census last week and had a very difficult time reading some of it. Sharon >I know of no indexes for the any Wolfe County Census, but the1920 Wolfe >Census is on line on the Wolfe County page. 2. At one time near the intersection of US 460 at Grassy Creek (a few hundred yards southwest of it) there was a one room building with a small steeple on it. The building burned down possibly in the 1940s. Many years prior, services were held in that chapel. Bette Jo Gevedon Whetstone

    2. I was very excited to read your Email. Wm. Granville(Buck) and Henrietta Brooks Short are my GGgrandParents and Alexander is my Great Grandfather. Betty Lou Elam called me one day from West Liberty an d told me she had found the graves. My husband and I went down there and up to the graves. We have been thinking of going down there and put a stone on those graves. At least a marker of some kind-meant to this year but my husbband had a light stroke and he doesn't like to drive much anymore. I took a picture of Alexanders grave an d when we were there a stone had crumbled right next to Alexanders and I wondered if that was Mollies? Did you think Alexanders stone said 1871? I couldn't decide if it was '70 or '71. In the Morgan Co. census of 1870 it said there was a John W. short age 2 in Calvin and Louisa Shorts house. That was my Grandfather. Alexander died at Calvins house. John Short married LUcy Utterback in 1891 and they had 3 children my Mother (Rebecca) another girl Etta and a son Willie. my Mother was b, 1900 and they left West Liberty when she was ca 18 mos. old. They moved to CAsey co. Ky and my Grandfather died in 1908 at 40 yrs.old. Lucy remarried and died in Boyle Co. Ky in 1926. This may be more than you cared to hear. I am anxious to hear from what Short you are descended. Your "Kin" Geraldine

Thanks, thats it !!! I should have stated that I found the cemetery, but later wondered about "The Chapel". I have a few letters writtened in the 1930's, telling the location of this cemetery, being in Grassy. I have one of them, stating it was near "the chapel", so I assumed it was a church, but after viewing, no church in sight. It's consists of 4 graves. A fellow researcher found the cemetery and she gave me exact directions. Go on 460 past Index from West Liberty, and turn right on 704, drive 1.1 mile, and turn into what looks like a driveway, and go a couple hundred feet, and a road goes left, up the hill. Walk [or 4 wheel drive] up to the top and the graves are located on the right side. My gr gr gr grandpa & mother, William Granville "Buck", and Henrietta Brooks Short, are there also their son and his wife. Alexander, and Molly Dunsmore Short. All were buried in the 1870's. One unlegible tombstone, for Alexander. All four graves are sunken. Using my common sense, [sometimes a problem] this indicates to me, the quality of the wood then available, that was used to build these coffins. The earlest grave was 1871, and the last one 1879. So with the graves, being about 130 years old, the sinking must have happened later, not sooner. Todays wood would have let go quick, and in 50 or 75 years I would think the sunken graves would have had time to fill up. Buck

    2. There is a "Chapel" area at US 460 at Grassy Creek, Ky. I believe there were two, one referred to Bethel Chapel, but we always called the area at the Grassy Creek intersection as "The Chapel." I don't remember a cemetery at that immediate area. There is one on US 460 between Grassy Creek and Mize at the Old Grassy Church. The church is still active and the cemetery is well-maintained. There is also a cemetery at Grassy Lick Baptist Church not far from there which is also rather old but well maintained. Inquiries at a large store at the Grassy Creek intersection could give you exact directions. I grew up in that area but many landmarks have changed as well as the highways. 2. Hi all. Looking for information on Gevedon family of Morgan County. Specifically for the parents of my Great Grandmother, Margaret Gevedon b Nov 1, 1859, Morgan County. LDS data base shows her the daughter of Benjamin Gevedon and Mary Ann Leach however there seems to be a generation gap (Ben born in 1809 would have been 50 and although I have no age of birth for Mary Ann she would have been close to this). My father refereed to Margaret's father as 'Doc' Gevedon and I thought, but have no records that her mother's name was Margaret (too) and maiden name might be Carter. I have info on the Gevedon line all the way back to France. This is my only mystery at this point and it is intriguing but perplexing! Appreciate any info. Thanks
