    3. An item from The New York Times, Sunday, November 2, 1997, page 33, "Metropolitan Diary," by Ron Alexander: Dear Diary: An older friend, recently returned from her home town in North Carolina, says they've spruced up the churchyard cemetery since her last visit several years back. "Lots of new greenery," she said. "And families are together now." "Together?" I asked, puzzled. "Well, years ago they never much worried where they buried someone because everyone was a neighbor anyhow. They'd just dig a grave wherever it seemed to balance things. But they've redone it so people are with their children and grandchildren, instead of scattered." "You mean they exhumed all those people and reburied them?" "Oh no," she said. "They just shifted the headstones. Everyone agrees it looks ever so much nicer

    1. [KYMORGAN] ELAM/ANDERSON/HANEY/BRADLEY
    2. Sharon Warner
    3. I'm looking for a date of marriage for a Pearl (or Pearlie) ELAM ANDERSON to someone by the last name of HANEY, probably in Morgan County, sometime after 1939 but before 1966. She later married someone with the last name of Bradley, probably after 1979 (so it would be Pearl ELAM ANDERSON HANEY BRADLEY). I'd like to send for the marriage certificates, but can't come any closer on the dates and have no first names for the husbands. I'm also looking for a copy of her obituary. She died in Salyersville, Magoffin County, but the newspaper there did not carry it. I thought a Morgan County paper might have run it since she lived a good part of her life there (Wheelrim area, I believe). It would be in the name Pearl Bradley and she died March 4, 1998. Hoping someone might be able to help with these. Sharon

    3. Spam is basically junk e-mail such as the posting that came through a little bit ago that said it was for girls only. It can also be about credit cards, vacation get aways, get rich quick schemes, etc to name a few. Ann

    3. Folks, Somehow a spam slipped through the eagle eyes of Rootsweb and made its way to our list. I have reported this to Rootsweb and they are taking care of the matter. If it shows that someone on this list is responsible for the spam, you will be off of the list. I, personally, do not think anyone here was responsible. Ann

    3. Hi Folks, Our Morgan County Coordinator is very ill at the moment. Any requests for adding homepages, cemeteries, and other materials should be sent to me until further notice. This is just a temporary situation until Deanna is back on her feet. Also, if you have requested a look up from Deanna in the last week or so, please be patient as it will be a little bit before she is back online and in full swing. Thanks, Ann Lemaster-Applegate [email protected] Assist Morgan CC

    3. Illness seems to be falling all around us. Deanna Levito, our Morgan County Coordinator, called me this morning. Both of her grandparents are very sick. Her grandmother is in the hospital with pneumonia in the right lung and the left lung is also starting to fill up. On top of this, Granny also has the new strain of flu. In the meanwhile, Deanna's grandfather Joe, Hamilton of Morgan County, is at home very ill also, possibly with the same thing. He was going to the doctor later this morning so we haven't heard if he was also admitted or not. Prayer is much needed!!! Ann Lemaster-Applegate Morgan County Listowner Asst. Morgan CC

    3. GOod morn, Good luck on any info....Ih ave not had time really to hear from either of the funeral homes that iIwrote about his records either....they may answer and they may not, but it was worth a try as you say.....at least with time we are trying to narrow this down...looks like we have not been as lucky on finding out things about the Border side. Thus far, we are having a rather mild winter ...this time last yr. we had lots of snow and school was on hold for 2 wks. after New yrs. due to slick roads even though we live in a very level section and no big curves, but we have lots of ice here and wow....you know the rest of the story then... Had some plumbing done this week---had 2 new replacements sinks put in, one was in the kitchen, new faucet sets, and a new b. room vanity.....finally all of the things are put back n place now...good luck on your searches ...J -----Original Message----- From: David and Charlene Wall <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, December 15, 1999 6:58 AM Subject: Re: happy holidays >Ann, >Thanks for the Christmas card. >Merry Christmas to you and yours. >Charlene > >Charlene Wall >CC BOYD COUNTY, KY. >[email protected] >http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/index.html >http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/resources/index.html >http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyboyd/photos/index.html > > >
