    1. [KYMONTGO-L] Introduction by New List Owner
    2. Robbintina Harrison
    3. Good morning everyone! It's time for an introduction as Jeannie has graciously allowed me to take over the Montgomery Co. KY list. I hope you will feel free to take the time to introduce yourself as well! I've had little time to turn my attention to my new list, as I travel during the week with my job. I've been researching my ancestors since 1990, traveling to many courthouses, libraries, cemeteries, etc. in those years to see the "source" records. The smell and feel of those old books when they are opened is just a part of being a family historian. Nothing like it! I enjoy the challenge of that "brick wall" and am thrilled with a small amount of information (a piece of my puzzle) to go forward with. I have been married 30 years and have three kids (2 in college - 1 taking flying lessons). There are currently 165 list members on the Montgomery Co. KY list. With that many people, we should be able to have some lively discussions on the families that lived in the Montgomery Co KY area from the time Kentucky was a state of VA to the present. Perhaps if each person would list their oldest ancestors who lived in the county, that would spark interest and discussion. Remember to give dates, locations, and as much info as you can on those dearly deceased ancestors. I hope each of you will be active participants and not just lurk in the background. One very important item is that I will not tolerate FLAMING by any method. "Flamers" will be immediately removed from the list and will not be allowed to subscribe again. Should there be a problem on the list, please contact me by private e-mail immediately. My e-mail address will appear in the tagline of many posts to the list. Occassionally I will post a question or request to generate conversation. I look forward to getting to know each of you. Let's get started with an informational roll call. (Not just a surname listing). Have a wonderful day of research! Robbin Harrison [email protected]

    3. Thank you for accepting this responsibility! I'll send along information about my ancestors - though they seem to have left no footprints in Montgomery County.
