My name is Melody and I am new to this forum. I find it very exciting to read everyone's emails about their ancestor's. I especially like the way everyone helps each other. A previous discussion on Mt. Sterling research at the library and courthouse was helpful to me. I might take a trip (I live in NJ) or perhaps pay someone to do the searching for me. My Montgomery County-Mt. Sterling connection is my Great G Father- John Hargis Orme: b: March 18, 1881 KY, d: August 09, 1952 Indianapolis, IN. He married: Nannie Elizabeth Martin-married abt: 1901 b: February 19, 1885 VA, d: December 25, 1964 Indianapolis, IN. They had my Grandmother: Floriene Orme on April 12, 1902, born in Mt. Sterling. Nannie Elizabeth Martin is said to have been an orphan. John Hargis Orme's parents were (I think) George S. Orme and Mary E. ?. John had a sister named Bertha and a cousin named Mary Linville. I am looking for any information about the family. I would especially like to get Newspaper Obits, and birth certificates for as many of them as possible. I have done some research on what is available in KY for birth certificates and I don't hold out much hope for getting my Grandmother's. 1902 seems to be a gap year where there are not alot of records. I am hoping that because she was born in Mt. Sterling that there may be a record there. Any assistance with the Orme, Martin or Linville families would be greatly appreciated. ************************************ --Melody Schumann-Herb
