Another year is coming to a close. On this last day of the year 2005 there are 42 digest members and 142 list members for the Montgomery Co KY List. There must be some common links there between all of us somewhere! Let's all take a moment sometime in the next week to write out a brief summary of the families that we are researching in the Montgomery County KY area (and the surrounding counties....we all know there were family links into those as well) and tell who we are stumped by. State the various sources that you have looked up and your thoughts for future research and that mysterious ancestor / family. There has been a lot of information shared on this list (and many others) in past years. People willingly share whatever information that they have - whether on their family or someone else's. Wonderful tips and suggestions pour over our computer screens on a daily basis. History and memories shared between all of us on the list - the common bond we all share is the delight in those glimpses of our own history as well as the historic moments that have affected our ancestors. Roll calls are too brief and only gives the surname. Instead of a roll call - put out the information of the historic families that lived and breathed in Montgomery County KY. Bring those people back to life with the written word. Tell the family stories that you know about. It will be retained in the archives for future researchers to pull that information up and do their own research and perhaps find documentation to share with others that hasn't been discovered yet.
