Hi Traci, I think you are probably of Frederick William Wills's line, too, aren't you? I descend this way: Frederick William m. Frances Durrett--Albemarle Co. VA, Clark Co.KY Thornton m. Nancy Bruce--Clark Co. KY Green Berry m. Rebecca Routt--Clark and Powell Co.KY James William m. Nancy Faulkner--Powell and Montgomery Co.KY Charles S. m. Sue Shultz--Montgomery and Bath KY Orville L. m. Elizabeth Cassity--Montgomery and Bath Co. KY, Illinois I am also related to Enoch Smith, through his sister Mary Jane, who was married to James Hardage Lane I. (I forgot to list Lane and Smith in my surnames!) The Lanes married into the Carringtons, and then into the Cassitys. Don't know if I have any info to help you. Let me know if you recognize these names. Marilyn
Hi Again Marilyn, I was just thinking if you haven't been in touch with Ruth Wills as of yet, you may want to. She lost her husband (the actual Wills descendant) about 3 years ago so hasn't done a lot of research lately and then lost her son on this past Thanksgiving Day but my interest has inspired her to get back to it some. She has your family line on her website til Charles and Sue. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rwills53/0b/t0b5e.htm Traci On 12/20/05, Marilyn Rabens <mwrabens@comcast.net> wrote: > > Hi Traci, > > I think you are probably of Frederick William Wills's line, too, aren't > you? > I descend this way: > Frederick William m. Hi Tracy, Please be careful when you use this site for research on your Wills family lines. This site is a compilation of many peoples work, with very few of those people being sited as the source of Ruth's work. This is not all of the work of one person, but many. Also there are many errors on this site in regards to my own family research which is on this site and of course no mention that it is my research. I have asked many times for this to be corrected on Ruth Wills site, but have yet seen any changes. There is also much work of the late O. T. Wills listed on this site and no mention that the work came from him. Please beware when using these two sites that belong to Ruth Wills for research. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/i/l/Ruth-Wills/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0111.html http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rwills53/0b/t0b5e.htm Regards, Edie Suttle, jsattle9@fuse.net TS Wills wrote: >Hi Again Marilyn, > >I was just thinking if you haven't been in touch with Ruth Wills as of yet, >you may want to. Thanks Edie, I will be careful. Ruth and I have become good friends and I know she meant no harm. As I said, she has been through a very rough few years and the website has not been a priority for her in a very long time as her husband was sick for a long time before he passed a few years ago and then her son on Thanksgiving Day 2005. All the info that I have regarding my line has been verified and I have documents proving the lineage. The second website I posted to the our forum is not Ruth's nor anyone associated with Ruth. We do not know the fellow, nor has he returned our emails so we are not using his info at all. It would be nice to find Frederick's father but Ruth was the one that cautioned me not to proceed on a website alone (even her own). :-) I'm not very experienced but I will always take the advice of those of you who are and will not add something to my own research until it has been proven. Thanks for your wise counsel!! :-) Traci On 1/2/06, Edie Suttle <jsattle9@fuse.net> wrote: > > Hi Tracy, > > Please be careful when you use this site for research on your Wills > family lines.
