Samuel and Margaret (Tuttle) Whitsett left Lancaster Co., PA and went to Mt. Sterling area, KY in late 1700s. Of their many children I descend from Joseph Whitsett who married Rebecca Stewart, daughter of Ezekiel Stewart. Whitsetts were Scots-Irish Presbyterians so I presume they joined that first Presbyterian Church formed in Mt. Sterling...... have no actual data, though. Ezekiel Stewart and wife, Rachel Larrison, came from NJ. After several children Joseph and Rebecca divorced...... would love to know more about what this was all about....... Soon after Joseph remarried and left for Gibson Co., IN to join a brother who had also gone there. Wonder if Rebecca resisted the idea and wanted to stay in KY with her family..... I may never know...... Can't believe how hard that pioneer life must have been on our grandmothers. Joan (Whitsett) Benton
