I have recently started searching one of my husband's ancestor's line and would like to know where I can write, call or email for birth, marriage and death records for Mount Sterling, Montgomery County, KY. I have looked at the federal census records from 1880 (where I first started) down to 1840, and it looks like his great grandfather, Van THOMPSON, may have had two wives (at least). The problem prior to 1850 is that you do not get the names of the individuals in the household. I thought at one time that they had the death records for KY online but that was several years ago and have since upgraded my computer and do not have any of those web sites I used to have for searching our ancestors.
