The Federal Census of 1830 shows William and wife with 5 daughters and one new son living in Louisville. He does not show up in the 1840 Federal Census, but Mary DeForest is listed as head of household in Mt. Sterling, Montgomery County, KY. She is caring for 4 females. These are likely the children of William and the eldest daughter is now head of household. The only boy would likely have been raised by an uncle. I have reason to believe this boy was John Charles DeForest and that he was raised by an uncle Watson. William was born in Pennsylvania. John Charles was born 1830 in Louisville, Kentucky. I'm searching for confirmation of the Watson/DeForest tie. --
