My thoughts on this family is and how I tie my William into it is: After William A. died his son Rice took most of the family to Ralls Co.,Missouri. I foud most of them on a 1830 census except for William. Who I think stayed in Ky. I think he was already interested in preaching & was a follower of John "Raccoon"Smith. I have found a Rev. William Carter (who I believe is my ggrandfather W.B.A.)on the trail around the Lexington, Ky. area, meeting up with a preacher by the name of REv. Jeremiah Vandeman. They had both attended a revival in Lexington. The year was sometime in the late 1830's or 1831. (This info. is from Notes by David Miles Vandeman, on the Biography of Jeremiah Vandeman in Vol.23S page #154 &155 of the Draper Manuscripts). I have records that William B.A. Carter was a preacher with the Disciples of Christ, Christian Church in Indiana & Missouri. I'm open to any suggestions from anyonr out there. We all know how hard it is to prove relationship when your looking before 1850. Would appreciate HELP !!!!
