Hey Guy, I was looking through my map again and this time I did, indeed, find a SEE! Roughly 1 mile south of Howards Mills is a J. See. Lee, I looked in my files to see if I had a Lucy SEE, but to no avail. I do have a lot of Kentucky SEEs. If interested you can see what I have at the following address. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~guyzimmerman/ Guy Lee Hoffman wrote: > Guy Zimmerman wrote: > >> Could you look on the Montgomery Map to see if there is a SEE or KNOX. > > > I did not find either name. Thanks Bob and Paul. Both the Knox an See families are from Montgomery and Powell Counties. I am related to these families. My grandmother taught high school in Mt. Sterling in the 30's, 40's and 50's and into the early 60's. Her name was Ila See Zimmerman. Are there any descendants of George Washington Stoner and his wife Nancy Tribble who subscirbe to this list? George W. [aka G.W.] was the eldest son of the old Kentucky pioneer Michael Stoner and his wife Frances [Franky] Tandy Tribble. Guy, there is/were both families in Powell Co., on the South fork of the Red River in the 1950's. Maybe not your line but might be worthwhile to check the Red River Historical Muesem in Clay City, Ky. Paul Hall
Hi Guy, I couldn't locate a See or a Knox anywhere on the map................first time I have totally struck out. Hi Patsy, I was a bit surprised, but the only Whitaker I found was a E. D. Whitaker living on Winn Street in the city of Mt. Sterling. Hi Penny, With all those names, I thought I would fare better than I did. All I found was: J. McDaniel on Mt. Sterling Pike (road) in Aarons Run lacality. Another J. McDaniel on the Bourbon County line in northernmost Montgomery County close to Peyton's Lick (creek) in Aarons Run area. W. H. Fletcher near Clark County line in Aarons Run area. In Mt. Sterling city is a property listed as Fletcher Est. (I assume the Est. is for estate) on Locust Street (also known as Little Mountain Street) on the far east side of the city, with another property right next door listed as Fletcher Fist (this is the second property I have found with a surname and "Fist" as the second part.........no idea what that means). Also in Mt. Sterling is a large parcel on a corner bounded on three sides by Locust St., Levee Pike (road) and Main St., owned by M. H. Jouett. Hope this helped. Hi Becky, Thank you, I enjoy doing it. I found the following for you: W. Myers, living on Town Brook (creek) about 2 miles from the Bath County line and about 5 miles ENE of Camargo. There are two properties listed for a J. H. Myers right on the city of Camargo's main drag. C. Myers about a mile SE of Jeffersonville. Another W. Myers several miles SE of Jeffersonville near Spruce Creek. The only Greenwade I found was a H. R. C. Greenwade on the main road in the city of Jeffersonville, which is about 3-4 miles SE of Camargo. The only Hazelriggs I found were all in the city of Mt. Sterling. There is a J. D. Hazelrigg on Maysville Street. There is a large property on the corner of Locust and Queen Streets in Mt. Sterling that is listed as Hazelrigg FIST (?? No idea) Just south of that one is a smaller property listed as Hazelrigg Est. (I assume the Est. is for estate) Way out on the SE side of Mt. Sterling is a HUGE property listed as the Geo. Hazelrigg Est. It has the Old Fort in the NE corner of the property and is bounded on the south by the Mt. Sterling Coal Railroad. Hope this helped!
