    1. Re: [KYMONTGO-L] Montgomery County Map 1879 - For Rick Ramey
    2. Hi Melody, I just scanned through the map for Orme and Hargis and found neither name. Montgomery county evolved over the years with parts being gained and lost to form new counties. You may want to look in the counties bordering Montgomery county. If I can find my "cheat sheet" showing me when counties were formed and from what counties their areas were taken from, I will post it. I have been unable to find her birth certificate, or any marriage document's for the family. Thanks for looking! Melody Herb

Sterling Railroad track. Looks like she may have owned a bit of land at the end of her road. In Mt. Sterling, I found a J. Ramey on the second property south of Little Mountain (also known as Locust) Street, on the East side of Queen Street. This property is a small lot in town. That was the only ones I found, but that doesn't mean I might not have missed any. The map is being sold from a leftover stock of maps they made for their bicentennial, by the Mt. Sterling Library for $22.50. The address is: "Just make a check out to the Mt. Sterling Library" Mt. Sterling - Montgomery County Library 241 West Locust St. Mt. 1. Re-joining List
    2. Jimmie D. Becraft
    3. Hi Listers, The families of most interest that I'm researching are: Paternal: BECRAFT, TREADWAY, STEELE, FOWLER, MYNHIER/MINEER/MINEAR/etc., HAGGARDY?, GREENWADE?. Maternal: ROGERS, HUNT, WILLS, KISSICK, SHROUT, THRONBURG/THORNSBURG/etc., LYNAM/LYMAN, CUNDIFF. My parents were Clarence E. BECRAFT and Betty Jane ROGERS. My grandparents were Samuel B. BECRAFT & Lizzie BECRAFT and Emory ROGERS & Hester [HUNT] ROGERS. I have quite a bit of information up to my great grandparents, but then it gets confusing. There is a lot of conflicting info on the internet about James BECRAFT b. abt. 1812, Robert BECRAFT b. abt. 1824 and Benjamin BECRAFT b. abt. 1779, Abraham BECRAFT b. abt. 1750, and George BECRAFT b. 28 Dec 1713. George seems to have disappeared after he was banished from Maryland in 1772. All help will be appreciated. Thanks,. Jim Becraft

    1. Re: [KYMONTGO-L] George Washington Stoner
    2. Thank you for your prompt reply re garding descendants of G.W. Stoner. Should you be acquainted with any of these descendants of G.W.Stoner and his wife Nancy nee Tribble, I would like to correspond with them--either e-mail or snail mail. I am a direct descendant of G.W.Stoner's son Michael Lowery Stoner [who died after the Civil War in or around Victoria Co., TX]. He migrated to Texas ca 1859, as the name of his first wife, nee Carlisle Harris [also my ancestor], appears in the 1860 mortality schedule for Texas. He married Carlisle, frequently called Caroline in the records, in Madison Co., KY. She was one of the younger children of Overton Harris & Nancy Oldham of Madison Co. There was one Stoner son who was a Union sympathizer, and G.W. and his wife Nancy both made deeds [in lieu of wills, it seems] naming all their children but this one son. According to other reports [was it in The Boone Family?], they made amends later. Seems like this family had a few grudges against one antoher, according to some other relatives' letters to Lyman S. Draper [or was it Shane?] That bit aside: Wish I could tackle TMG with more confidence than I feel. I must switch, but the learning curve at my age is HUGE!!! I have your first book, but DAR problems/tasks/make-work keep me from my love--genealogy!!! E.W.Wallace [female in California]
