New book: MENIFEE COUNTY GRAVEYARDS, contains info from Vol 1 & 2 of my cemetery records plus burial in Menifee Co since I transcribed the records in the early 1980's. If anyone is interested, please email me at [email protected]
I've not been able to determine the burial place of my Coburn ancestors who lived around Jeffersonville, so I am also interested in knowing more about the 16 graves. There may have been some Browns there, as well. Barbara, I would love to know where the 16 graves were found and if they know who is in the graves or possibly who the property belong to. I am still looking for my family Christopher Wools, wife Elizabeth and some of the children who were buried in Montgomery Co. in 1801 up to 1846. Since he was a farmer, I assume they were buried on their property. He owned 200 acres on the water course of Hingston. Carol in Tucson
Dear Barbara, What was said in the Mt. Sterling Advocate? I've made 2 trips to Montgomery county to try and find an old family graveyard for the Flacks. Where is this cemetery located? Is it on a hilltop? Sorry to bother you, but I'll be down there in a hot minute if there's a chance that it's the Flacks (also might be Johnsons). John T and Lucy Henry lived in Montgomery Co. KY all of their married life. It had long been thought that our John T., husband of Lucy Caywood Henry, was the son of William and Eliza Phillips Henry. Although we suspicioned it to be incorrect, it took our research through Morgan County KY. We now have found his 1899 obituary (in the Mont. Co Public Library) stating that John T died in a Louisville Ky hospital after an operation and was buried in Plum, KY, just over into Bourbon Co. KY. It also said that his father was George Henry of North Middletown Bourbon Co, KY. It's always exciting when you break through a brick wall. Now on to the next one and find Lucy's parents. 1 George Henry ...... 2 John T. Henry - 1899 (buried in Bourbon Co off Olsen Road) .......... +Lucy Ann Caywood 1849 - 1922 (Buried in North Middletown) .............. 3 James Luther Henry .................. +Ellen Drew .............. 3 Eddie .................. +Molly Turner .............. 3 Hoda Henry 1880 - 1896 (Buried in Aarons Run-Mont. Co) .............. 3 Ida Henry .............. 3 Mollie Henry .................. +Matthew Swope .............. 3 Charles Henry (Buried next to his mother in Bourbon Co.) .................. +Hester Everman .............. 3 Myrtle Henry 1888 - .................. +Henry Hovermale .............. 3 John Dudley Henry 1869 - 1930 .................. +Sarah Belle Myers 1870 - 1929

>From my friend in KS came the following.. :) enjoy jeannie <>< Hi.....just came in from approximately 6 hours of mowing and trimming on this place. I did come to a conclusion while riding the mower hour after hour.....IF the Middle East had more grass and less sand and more real houses instead of tents, those who would be terrorists would not have time to think up all this war stuff on the U.S.A. They, too, would have all their time taken up just staying ahead of the grass and weeds.. A POX on them, I wish them GRASS! Sherry
Pass this along please>>>> Subject: Purple Ribbons A movement has been started like that from Desert Storm. During Desert Storm we tied yellow ribbons anywhere we could. Well, now the movement is to tie purple ribbons the same way. This is for two reasons. 1. In remembrance of not only the firefighters, police officers, paramedics who have died, but also for all who have died in this terrible tragedy. 2. Just as in the military, when a serviceman get injured, he is given the Purple Heart. Well, our country has been injured to its core. Please pass this on to everyone you know, and let's see purple ribbons everywhere. Along with the flag of the United States of America. -- ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø Every time I find an ancestor I need to find two more! ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø

A Gentleman on one of my lists teaches genealogy, and he has graciously given me permission to pass his web site on to you. He has created crossword puzzles to help learn about this hobby of ours. I have played with them and they are a great teaching tool to say nothing of just fun. So PLEASE check it out and enjoy. http://www.asheboro.com/ons/online/puzzles/puzzle_index.html Jeannie <>< List Mom
Guy, Thanks so much for your quick reply. You have a very nice site. I found a great many COONS on the site along with other names such as Locke and Wheat but couldn't make a connection. I'll keep the file though for further reference. Again, thank you. My brick wall ( and believe me, I have one) is the fact that for years I searched the COONS family in Kentucky. I have the marriage certificate of my Martin COONS, Sr. m. Mary (Polly) LOCKE, April5, 1796. I THOUGHT Martin's parents were Jacob COONS and Letitia KEMPER.....but along comes a fellow who says I'm wrong and he has a Martin COONS m. Polly LOCKE, but with Adam & Dolly COONS as parents. I also have documentation that Martin COONS, Sr. and wife, Polly lived during the 1840s in Hamilton County, IL and Martin allegedly was lost from a boat on the Mississippi in 1846. His wife, Polly, is buried in Hamilton County, IL. But, now I don't know who his parents were. Could someone please help me? Maybe some information on Polly Locke would help also. I'd be happy with just a small clue. Thanks, Everybody! Sharlene Coontz Meyer
